The senior students of Prerna Girls School celebrated Science Fest. The theme was ‘from lockdown to vaccine. The girls prepared experiments, posters and the possibility of a vaccine to stop the spread of Coronavirus. Here is a snapshot from the event.

Didi's Foods is an International Award Winning Social Enterprise created in 2008 by Dr. Urvashi Sahni (Founder/CEO of Study Hall Educational Foundation) with an aim to empower the mothers of Prerna Girls School students and enable them to also shape their own futures. Prerna is a school for underprivileged girls coming from economically poor backgrounds and most are compelled by their circumstances to work in houses as domestic helpers by day, then attend school in the aftern...oons. Dr. Sahni recognized a dire need for the mothers of their students, as well. She rented a room in a neighboring home and asked a few of the mothers to work as cooks for the K-12 private school students that occupy the Prerna Girls School building during the days. Over the years, these mothers were trained to cater to local businesses and Didi's has become a full-fledged operation. They have stepped up as leaders to serve their community through COVID-19 and are now catering 2000 meals per day! See more

Why is educating women the most effective way of reducing global poverty?

Barli Institute educates and empowers young, rural and tribal women and girls to become leaders and agents of social change in their communities. They are recognized by UNESCO as one of the top 100 education projects in developing countries. It costs approximately $400 CAD for the total program costs and room&board for the 6-month training of one student.
