Well, it's about that time again. This Sunday, November 1st will be our last day open for the season. We'll be sad not to see your faces as much through the winter, but we are very excited for what 2021 has in store. Thank you all for your continued support of the work we do here to give you a great golfing experience. We had a pretty great season despite the challenges of 2020! We hope you all have a great few months and stay safe until we can all be together again!

Those who called the Pro Shop to book tee times for Tuesday and Wednesday, could you go online and check to see if your tee time is correct as there was a glitch and some of those bookings were not processed in the system correctly. We know it's tough sometimes, but please remember that masks are mandatory in all public places, including our pro shop and clubhouse. The only exception is when you're seated at a table in the dining area to eat or drink. This will apply, even after we transition to yellow again, for as long as it's mandated by the provincial government. Thanks to everyone who has been cooperating!

Throughout this week, we're featuring some volunteers who have helped make this season (and previous ones) at MGCC a great success! Bill Sloan has been around MGCC for about 30 years. He's helped out on the grounds, with spring cleanup, and with Jim Baxter tournament registration. Bill is down to help out wherever he's needed and says that now that he's retired, he has more time to do so! "Others helped out in the past so I could play tournaments, so perhaps it is my time now.... Being a golf nut doesn’t hurt as well!" Thanks, Bill!

We've had to make some changes since the announcement by the provincial government that our region is moving back to the Orange Phase: Since Zone 1 (the Moncton region) is being moved back to the Orange Phase as of midnight tonight, you must be physically distanced from anyone outside your immediate family and two household bubble even while outside on the course starting at opening time tomorrow. This distancing also applies to the clubhouse and the pro shop. You also canno...t share a cart or sit at a table in the dining room with anyone outside your immediate family or two household bubble. Tables are limited to four seats. The Iron Man tournament scheduled for this weekend will still be going ahead, but we will be asking participants to leave the course immediately after their round. We also ask that you please distance yourselves from others while you’re in line for registration. As a reminder: face masks are now mandatory in the pro shop and clubhouse at all times. The only exception to this is when you are seated at a table in the dining area to eat or drink. Thank you very much for your continued cooperation.

We've been featuring some volunteers who have helped make this season (and previous ones) at MGCC a great success! Today's feature is Maureen Mills. Maureen served on the Executive of the Ladies' Divison in a variety of capacities, including as President. She also chaired the Moncton Ladies' Invitational Golf Tournament for four years and has helped with gardening around the course. "The Ladies' Division has a super group of members and interacting with them is its own reward...," she says of volunteering at the club. Thanks, Maureen!!

Throughout this week, we're going to be featuring some volunteers who have helped make this season at MGCC a great success! Today's feature is Wayne Battiste. Wayne has been a member at MGCC for the past ten years. You'll find him on the course and in the clubhouse most mornings. When he's not golfing, he's helping out on the grounds, registering tournament players, painting the clubhouse and much more! He also serves as secretary on our board of directors. Thanks for everything you do, Wayne!!

It's the final Tuesday Senior League of the year and we have a contest for you! First person to guess who this chubby-cheeked senior is wins two green fees! (Hint #1: He was born in '42) UPDATE: It's none other than George Spare! Congrats to Nick Smith, who guessed first!

The online auction is now live! Every year, we host the Hopper Cup tournament and fundraising dinner to improve the experience of our course for all members and the public. The auction that normally takes place in person during the Hopper Cup weekend is now being held online. Check out the items we have up for grabs this year! We'd greatly appreciate your support!

While we can't host our annual Hopper Cup tournament this year, the auction lives on! Stay tuned for the auction launch on Monday and loads of member events next week!!
