Living the quarantine life, it was exciting when different stages opened up meaning there were more public places we would be able to visit! That also meant that masks were mandatory in many public places. We all knew that masks were going to stay in our lives even if we liked it or not. My friend, knowing the crafty person that I am, sent me a link to a short Korean variety show. Her caption to the link was can you make this? It was a video of someone wearing a mask lany...ard. I looked at it and thought I could totally make that! I instantly knew what I wanted to make it with! Paracord! I had some unused paracord that I bought when we went to camp to make camp bracelets. I also just ordered some clasps because I was making a bandana for my dog! I started creating right away, and I knew that the paracord might be a little harsh and I wanted to make it as lightweight as possible so tweaked the paracord to be more lightweight. Added the clasps on and voila! I thought it was the perfect mask lanyard. I gifted it to my friends when we were finally able to enjoy our time in the public with the right social distancing protocols. While we were walking on the sidewalk, I noticed so many people taking their masks off right when they step out of a public building, and not knowing what to do with their masks. I saw people stuffing their masks in their purse, using it as a bracelet, hanging it on one ear, and leaving it on their chin, some masks were even dropped to the floor and people often did not notice or they picked it up (which probably is not sanitary). While people were doing that my friends and I were so comfortable because we had the mask lanyards. We took our masks off and we were not worried about losing our masks. I honestly wanted to give everyone a lanyard if I had it, because it was so comfortable and it was so lightweight that you didn’t even realize that it was there. This made me decide to add more colours to my collection and let the public have access to it as well! I want to share the comfort that I felt with my little creation. I hope you enjoy it! See more
