Voting opens Tuesday after chapel speeches, and I hope to see you all there! Here's a video highlighting more of what the VP of Student Relations role is and why I am passionate about this role. Last year I ran for VPSR with a passion, and although it was the closest race of last year with only 4% difference in the vote, the VPSR role has been very media focused in recent years. Which is why I am so excited to pioneer this new role! I have spent over a year planning and env...isioning what this role can and should be like next year and have gained some valuable experience to better serve you. From being a Peer Instructor, leading a Global Projects trip, serving as an RA this year, and most recently going to the United Nations in Thailand - all of these experiences have further developed my passion for advocacy, and my heart for you, the student body. What is an Ombudsman? A question that I have been asked many times this week and so I thought I'd take some time to explain! The Ombudsman position is one of the primary roles of the VP of Student Relations and something that I am very passionate and excited about! If every student on this campus does not feel advocated for and comfortable with sharing opinions, questions, issues, and concerns with TWUSA then TWUSA isn't able to represent this student body well.... That's where the Ombudsman comes in... Your connecting point on TWUSA; from everything from ways TWUSA can serve you better, to academic disputes, or things that you want to see happen at this university - the Ombudsman is here for you!
