Are you an "Overfollower" and "Underachiever" ? You heard me right! I used to be! ... In my early days of being an entrepreneur or what I THOUGHT an entrepreneur was, I was an over follower! I would get stuck in the mental battle of "she is better than me" "she is so successful and I just suck" I constantly put myself down and only focused on those people already successful. I spent most of my time "following" and resenting, instead of focusing and achieving! It was hard, but I had to get out of my own head. I had to realize that if all I'm thinking about is someone else's success how the hell will I become successful! I learned that you can use those who you are watching as examples and LEARN from them to better yourself. The minute I was able to focus in on my business and goals, things began to shift. I began surrounding myself with those who have and continue to grow in their paths and who were willing to mentor me and show me the ways of navigating the entrepreneur life. It's not all success and awards even though it may seem some have it that way. Most people want to sprint and get to the finish line but what they don't realize is a great long term successful business is anything but that. Its a marathon. Those who train hard learn how to trip and get back up getting them to that finish line with bumps, bruises and one hell of a story to tell. But guess what? an entrepreneur never truly has a finish line either! SO what you train for is a lifelong learning and growing process that will reward you along the way and also knock you down. I always kept it as a reminder to myself to say only what I mean and won't regret saying. This is absolutely the same in business. No matter what you say to a customer, client, team member, employee know that it will in some way impact them and stay with them longer than the few seconds it took for them to hear it.... When you speak, remember to empower. Even when you are giving constructive criticism, recognize something in them that you can focus on as a positive! Long-lasting, dedicated employees will stay when they are recognized for their strengths. As a coach, I THRIVE in finding, showing and working with my clients to embrace and excel in their strengths. My job is not to train when I coach but to help you realize your own potential. Every day I am blown away by how many INCREDIBLE entrepreneurs there are but think they are not capable of success. My necklace today says Be Open since realizing my personal potential, I have allowed myself to be more open to opportunity. Never say no until you see what is right for you. If I had said no to the opportunities that came my way, I would never have known what I was truly meant to do in life. I hear way too often things don’t happen for me I’m just not as lucky as other people. No the problem is YOU! Getting an opportunity through someone is because you know them and bui...lt a relationship with them. Things don’t happen for you because YOU CHOOSE to harbour negativity and focus on everything you don’t have. Open your eyes, mind and soul to start allowing more positive energy and vibes in. This will in turn pump up your personality and energy you put out in the universe. There is no room for the good stuff when all your doing is looking at Nancy and wondering how all the good things happen to her! PS- she is probably working her ass off you just don’t see that part.
