Wire wrapping is so much fun to do! I had some crystals on hand to practice with and I’m really quite pleased with these ones ! I learned some marble wrapping techniques for these selenite palm stones. I love the contrast between the luminous white stone and copper wire. The pendant on the right has been sold but more can be made as well as custom wire colour/style combinations. There’s a virtual rave going on this weekend with super talented, Winnipeg DJs. I tuned in last and danced in my living room but there’s a certain magic of a dance floor that I miss that so much!! Another part of the rave community that makes me feel like home is their love of a good theme. The challenge of being Wild Things for a night of outdoor dancing was what pulled me out of my creative funk earlier this year. ... I found my vest, sweater, boots and belt, and Glenn’s coat and mitts at thrift stores. I envisioned the white, fur trimmed, hooded cloak of my dreams so made one from scratch and made it right. It has a faux fur lined hood and blanket batting under the lining so it is as functional as it is fantastical. I decided that I was not going as a beast but as the Queen of all Wild Things, which meant a crown of some sort. Since I didn’t have a circlet to match my vision, I opened up YouTube and made one. Oh hey new, wire wrapping skill! The fact that this costume glowed both pink and blue under black light was an amazing bonus! @curious_shaman dives in as deep as I do. He lined his coat with red, glowing El wire and created the lit up horns out of Worbla and led puck lights that could change colour. We both made a faux fur caplet to add some extra wildness. We’re developing a reputation of being that couple and we’re totally down for it! Tonight, the online festival continues and I’ll kitchen dance some more.
