Last year, I lost my dog-niece, Guinness. She was crazy, and strong, and persistent and peed out of excitement when I used to go visit her. I always find it easy and extremely difficult at the same time to draw an animal I have personally known. And it always takes me longer. In fact, this one took me 6 months, off and on. But I finally gave my sister her birthday present last week (her birthday is January 2nd lol). So this is generally what happens to me when it comes time for Christmas commissions. I had 11 to do in 2 months, and since most of them are gifts, I can’t post progress shots. I have a hard time saying no when it comes to gifts, so even though I’m always over extended, I still say yes. Which results in a massive burnout for me every New Year. I have finally emerged, with the 12th pictured here being done last week.
