Over 400km and 15 000m of climbing (250 miles and 50,000 ft) so far. But our bodies are starting to rebel, especially after a brutal day like today where we could barely ride even downhill because it was crazy steep, rocky and loose. #nottotallysickofsnickersyet #butwewantmoresaucisson

(Kelli here.) So here we are, a couple of 30ish year-old women on an amazing unicycling adventure through the Alps. We are self-supported, which means we carry everything we need- our food, tent, sleeping bags, and a ridiculous amount of Snickers bars. There isn't someone following nearby in a car, bringing us food or shuttling us to hotels. It's just us. But we have to confess that there is a team behind the scenes, a team that hasn't failed in their support, encouragement a...nd love. Our parents. We stayed with Anne-Sophie's parents and her grandfather the night before we began our trip. Her mom drove us from Jujurieux to Voiron on day one and sent us off with bellies full of food. Last Monday, An'so's mom and dad drove 4 hours each way to deliver to us a few spare parts. They had to ride a ski lift to get to the mountain we had climbed. They had to hike back down to their car as darkness fell. They are going to bring us our luggage when we finish in Zermatt and see us off at the airport in Geneva. My mom is in charge of my chaotic household while I'm away and she's been busy scaring off bears in the middle of the night and waking up at the crack of dawn with my dogs. When I told her about the trip she immediately volunteered to play the part of me for a month. My dad funneled funds into my PayPal account to make things like airfare possible and he has been so encouraging and excited for me from the start. My in-laws took my kiddo for three weeks and have kept him entertained to the point where he probably doesn't even realize that this is the longest time he and I have ever been apart. We are two independent women off on an amazing adventure. But we're also just girls who appreciate and love our moms and dads more than they'll ever know. And then there's Justin and Jon, two dudes who thought it was super cool that their girls wanted to unicycle up and down mountains for a month. No hesitation, no discouraging words- just 100% support and the willingness to help us make it happen. There's a reason we like you guys! Here's our selfie with Anne-Sophie's parents from a few nights ago when they journeyed up the mountain to bring us a few things.

This is what we look like after climbing 5000 feet over 7 miles (1520m over 10km). Strong, happy, and eager for the downhill. Also, sunburned. #nowwherestheicecream

Yesterday, just as I was being a brat complaining "these mountains are not as beautiful", the stunning Dent Blanche peak appeared in front of us. #cantgetenoughofthesemountains
