We’re thrilled for our clients, Kitselas Treaty Office on the launch of their new website! We designed it with care, considering the needs of all members. Some of the highlights include: scalable text for those who would like to enlarge the font for readability, a members-only section of the site where Kitselas members can ask questions and access resources that pertain only to them, an interactive timeline of the Treaty process, and featuring incredible photos of the community and region from photography talent Marty Clemens. Take a look and let us know what you think! Special thanks to Shift Creative Solutions for their talented input on this project.

By now, we’ve all had a taste of crisis management (big thanks to this year-long pandemic). We’re sharing the top three crisis comms challenges people had to face since the start of COVID and how we should continue to manage any crisis going forward. Getting your clients on board How you prepare for a crisis determines how quickly you’ll recover from it. Helping your clients understand and navigate through one comes from preparing them ahead of time for any potential crisis..., the idea that their brand is not untouchable, and breaking the misconception that there’s no point in preparing for the unexpected. How and when to respond When to respond is the first half of the challenge and the second is how to respond. Understanding the benefit and the need to be authentic is crucial. Make sure your message is consistent across all channels. The escalation and de-escalation of a crisis on social media Unfortunately, platforms can often provide users with an unlimited ability to say whatever they want, whenever they want. You could risk losing control of a situation on social media if you don’t have a proper strategy in place. Establish a clear plan and strategy so you and your client can be prepared if the situation arises. #MonogramCommunications #PRAgency #SocialMedia #CrisisCommunications #CommunicationsAndPR #TorontoPR #VancouverPR #CalgaryPR #MarketingConsultants #CPRSProud #CPRSVancouver #CPRSToronto

Just like Instagram, Facebook updates are constant, providing brands and creators new opportunities to reach out to our audiences. Here are a few that were rolled out last monthbut you can benefit from today Shorter video monetization ... A while back, only three-minute videos or longer could be monetized. Now, videos can be as short as one minute and can include previously posted images. Eligibility requirements have been loosened This allows for more brands and creators to tap into this revenue program. Now to qualify for in-stream ads, pages need to have 600,000 total minutes of video viewed (which includes on-demand, live, and saved live video from the last 60 days, also the page must have five or more active video or saved live videos). Live video ads This invite-only program is now open to anyone who has 60,000 live minutes viewed in the last 60 days on their page. We also hear that the platform will begin testing Facebook Stories with ads that look like stickers - Stay tuned for more updates on this platform and others! #MonogramCommunications #SocialMediaMarketing #SocialMedia #FacebookTips #SocialMediaTips #AgencyLife #PRAndCommunications #FacebookUpdates #FacebookMarketing

Have you heard the latest buzz around Clubhouse, an invitation-only social network app based solely on verbal communication? Essentially, the platform allows you to jump in and out of different chats, on different subjects. You can either choose to listen in or join the conversation (think of it as a virtual cocktail party). Some wonder if this app is here to stay or if we’ll be over it in a few short months, here’s what our team thinks of it No need to be camera ready - i...t's your voice! Whether you just rolled out of bed or have no intentions of showing your face that day, the app allows you to show up at any time and join in on the conversation without having to turn on your camera. Builds business connections Because this app is about your voice, it’s a powerful way to make business connections. Rather than exchanging business cards, listeners are checking out your Instagram or Twitter account. There’s a great opportunity to use this platform to gain clients and grow your company. It motivates you to use your voice On platforms such as Instagram or TikTok, the larger accounts only seem to have a voice. On Clubhouse, it’s a level playing field. Forget the number of followers you have, it’s all about what you have to say. Authentic engagement Clubhouse provides the opportunity to open up small group discussions on any topic. Whether it’s your failures or successes, strangers are opening up as they would over a cup of coffee with a friend on the app. Test your ideas It’s a great way to crowdsource content. Simply starting a chat and allowing others to provide their honest opinions can provide helpful (and free) insight into your ideas. What do you think of the app? If you’ve downloaded it, how are you using it? Is your story newsworthy? 7 criteria that determine a #newsworthy story for the media: 1. Impact: what impact will the story have on society?... 2. Proximity: is it locally important? nationally? 3. Timeliness: Is it happening now? 4. Prominence: Does it speak for itself? 5. Conflict: how contentious is the issue? 6. Novelty: is this new or a regurgitation from the past? 7. Human interest: how much of the focus is on people? If none of these is in your story, you have information, not news. #PRTip #MarketingTipOfTheDay #MonogramCommunications #PRCommunications #TorontoAgency #VancouverBC #MarketingandBranding #KnowYourAudience #NewsWorthy #SocialMediaMarketing #AgencyLife #MarketingTip #CanadianMarketing #MarketingConsultant #MarketingTips4U #PGLife #PrinceGeorgeBC #PRAndMarketing

Several platforms have made recent accessibility updates with more to come by early 2021. As marketers, we should also view this as an opportunity (and responsibility) to make these updates to our content as well. To help make the shift for more inclusive content, we’re sharing 6 inclusive tips you can use right now. 1. Make your text accessible Writing with clarity will make your text more accessible and easier to understand. Try writing in plain language, avoid the overuse... of caps, and capitalize the first letter of each word when using hashtags for easier legibility. 2. Include descriptive captions in your images and videos Almost all platforms allow you to add alt-text for images and GIFs. If it’s not possible to add alt-text, you can also include descriptive captions. 3. Don’t just rely on colour to get your message across Over 2.2 billion people have some form of vision impairment while colour can mean different things for different cultures. Try adding an underline or hover animation over hyperlinks. You can also try using symbols as an alternative. 4. Stay informed about accessibility tools and updates There are a few official accounts devoted to accessibility. Follow these accounts to stay updated and to know what options are available. 5. Support positive inclusion Another way you can be more inclusive, is to be as diverse as the people in your audience. Feature diversity in your visuals, copy, and partnerships. And when possible, provide support. 6. Welcome feedback It’s important to be open to feedback and to own mistakes when you make them. Provide clear contact details or tell your audience where they can share their thoughts. The point is, you want to provide a safe and positive way to communicate with your community. #Accessibility #AccessibilityForAll #AccessibilityMatters #MonogramCommunications #TipOfTheDay #MarketingTips4U #Marketing101 #TorontoAgency #VancouverBusinesses #VancouverBC #PrinceGeorgeBC #PRAndCommunications #PRAgency #CPRSProud

Last month was #worldmentalhealthday and now more than ever during these unprecedented times, taking care of your mental health should be taken seriously. Regardless of how you use social media, it can be challenging to #unplug and take a mental break from it all. We’re sharing a few #mentalhealthtips you can include each day. Frequently checking on your workload can help prevent you from burning out. Recognize the signs by reviewing your to-do list each ...week and ask yourself, ? ? Setting app limits on your phone can help you manage your screen time. The content you consume can impact your mood and overall wellbeing. If you’re starting to feel as if certain content is affecting your health, you can choose to unfollow or mute accounts that might be triggering negative feelings. - This doesn’t necessarily mean fancy trips to the spa. Taking 10 minutes out of your day to meditate, listen to soothing music, or going for a walk can make all the difference to your overall mood. If all else fails, it’s okay to take a break from social media. Depending on your job, It may be impossible for you to avoid it altogether but setting boundaries and taking a break on weekends or evenings can still be done. If you’re catching signs of burnout or even if you’re feeling fine but know you need a break, ask for help. There are some valuable resources available to help you through social media fatigue. Here are a few of our favourites below @headspace - a meditation app that can be used virtually anywhere. @redcrosscanada - their Psychological First Aid is designed to help you look for the signs of distress in others and yourself. @bell_letstalk - free 24/7 support via Facebook Messenger and other helpful tools
