It is very disappointing and sorrowful how recent Civil-Army bonhomie episodes have unfolded. A dignified village headman (Gaon Burah) from Grelling village in Lhou, was manhandled and hospitalised. He was reportedly stroked with the butt of a gun by a rowdy sepoy. Gaon Burahs, who are probably the most tactful and wisest in the hamlet, being subjected to gun butts like hardcore terrorists, is unimaginable and highly condemnable. The irresponsible and childish act by few Army personnels and staffs of 763 RCC of BRO has made the civil-military friendship to a new stooping low. Power & uniforms are to protect and safeguard, not to dictate and bully. Pray everything is sorted out ASAP

Honoured to receive the edition of the book 'When the mountains cried' from the author, Achi Nawang Choidak la, Dipro Tawang. The book summarises the events during the 1962 Indo-Sino war and has been penned by Shri Ngawang Choidak ji after extensive research, proof reading, cross checking and interactions with people from the length and breadth of the district over a period of 10-12 years. I on behalf of the Monpa community take the onus to congratulate him on joining the coveted elite club of authors of Mon region and adding another feather to his already illustrious hat.
