UPDATED INFORMATION The AMI Elementary Alumni Association board is thrilled to announce a unique professional development offering as the anchor of this year’s ...virtual Summer Conference. We are partnering with the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector (NCMPS - https://www.public-montessori.org/) to offer The Culturally Responsive Montessori Environment- An Intensive for Elementary Educators to our members. This intensive: Was designed to be delivered online and has been vetted with two cohorts of participants from mixed levels and training, contains six modulesabout 12 hoursof independent study work (reading, videos, reflection), and interactive live sessions delivered by NCMPS Race and Equity Advisor, Maati Wafford. The course will launch on June 15 and close July 24, 2020 at a cost of $150. The first live session will occur in late June; dates and times will be based on enrollment. All participants will receive a certificate of completion; you will also have the opportunity to request CEUs from Loyola University Maryland at the end of the course for an additional $25. This offering from AMI-EAA and NCMPS, two organizations whose mission is to strengthen the capacity of Montessori teachers in the field, comes at a time when the teacher’s role as an agent for social justice is more clear than ever. The course prepares us to do deep work in our classrooms and in ourselves, centering our Montessori practice on cultural responsiveness; it is developed by Montessorians by and for us. Recognizing that this work is not new for some and is deeply personal for all, we will work with the NCMPS team to ensure that the course break-out groups are inclusive of your breadth of experience and preferences for affinity grouping. To let us know if you intend to participate in The Culturally Responsive Montessori Environment- An Intensive for Elementary Educators, complete the following Summer Training RSVP Form. https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSc98-qXyfBtTkL_hU/viewform Upon verification of membership, you will receive an invoice and when payment is received, we’ll give you the code you’ll need to register with NCMPS.
This post contains another collection of resources.
We’re just getting started.
