Not only do we sell 100% local grown, seasonal produce, in our Grassroots Food Boxes, but Guy takes these amazing Canadian ingredients and whips up ALL KINDS of prepared foods and snackie snacks to sell on our grocery list. Like his Tomatillo Salsa or Smoked Eggplant Dip. Both known to inflict unsuspecting eaters with uncontrollable binge snacking. So good, people just eat them straight outta the deli container with a spoon #nolie

This is why the prairie can store carbon. Only 4% of the tallgrass prairie is left. When the first settlers came to the rich grasslands and dug them up, billion...s of tons of carbon went into the atmosphere. We are just now figuring this out. HOW do we get the carbon back into the soil when most of that prairie system is gone? Digging Deep Reveals the Intricate World of Roots http://proof.nationalgeographic.com//digging-deep-reveals/

Hey Folks, FYI Saigon Flower at Queen Street West and Abell Street had a break-in this morning. Around 6AM, someone smashed their front door and stole the cash ...till and some money. The owner has filed a police report and the police are reaching out to nearby businesses for footage of the incident. If you get the chance, please consider supporting this business. The owner - Rose - has run Saigon Flower on Queen Street West for over 30 years. The restaurant has great food as well.

Last month, enRoute magazine featured our Grassroots Food Boxes! "When the Covid-19 pandemic laid bare our dependence on global supply chains, owner Guy Rawlings tapped into his network to create bespoke boxes of the best local produce, meat, fish and staples around... Rawlings offers more than 300 items, makes all the prepared foods and meal kits himself... Processing each order and answering every query has brought him closer than ever to customers. It’s a very intimate co...nnection, especially in a time when you can’t be social. https://enroute.aircanada.com//food-and-/2020-food-trends/

The orange shirt in Orange Shirt Day refers to the new shirt that Phyllis Webstad was given to her by her grandmother for her first day of school at St. Josep...h's Mission residential school in British Columbia. When Phyllis got to school, they took away her clothes, including her new shirt.
