Todays boat trip to Redonda, what a crew with the good Captain Sweeny, first mate Monty, a few skirvy dogs from the CCC and a dodgy French pirate. Good time had by all!

I'm looking to do another Redonda dive/snorkeling/sightseeing trip this Sunday if anyone is interested. Purely a first come first served basis of 10 places. Possibly got 6-7 already so only 3-4 places up for grabs. The price is only $40 US for the day. Also, I'm looking at Friday 27th July for my big leaving party, it's going to be a 'bad taste' themed party i.e. the most outrageous clothes that you can beg, borrow or steal (sorry buy), apparently the Red Cross Thrift store is the boutique of choice for such apparel. OK guys and girls a quick update for you. I'm staying in Little Bay until the end of June. After a few weeks holiday I'll be setting up somewhere down South of the island where I'm currently considering a few options. I'll be staging a leaving party towards the end of June with a 'bad taste run ashore' theme, which basically means that you go to the thrift store and spend no more than a few dollars on a complete outfit (I know some of you will not need to do this!) with priz...es for the worst male / female rigs. In the meantime I'm setting up a social dive club in order to get people of the island diving again and to increase the social aspect of diving, with incentives for joining i.e. discounted diving and courses, trips to Redonda etc. The name of this social diving club should amuse you as well, as it shall be called the Montserrat Underwater Fanatics Foundation Diving Club or MUFF Diving Club for short, imagine how good the tee shirts will be! There will be a small membership fee but it will include loads of membership discounts and other offers to get you back into diving or snorkelling. Big thank you to my solicitor - Sylvester (Top Man) who's got them to see sense and call off the dogs on Saturday, well done big man! Hopefully I will be given enough time to move out in my own time and set up my new business without all this hassle! My sincere good will to whoever takes over the license (you'll need it!). Until then it's business as usual and hopefully a few wild and memorable nights along the way before I leave there! Monty

Well that's it folks, they've served me notice to leave by Saturday the 17th May, a whopping 4 days notice! If there was proof enough of an agenda to get me out here then this is it. Although I was instructed to wait for an extraordinary meeting between myself, John Ryan and Kenneth Allen arranged by Kato the head of DIFID to try and resolve issues it seems that the MDC are not interested. Well guess what I'm not going anywhere, I've paid up in full for this month and in the ...terms of my license they have to give me at least 60 days notice. This should give me enough time to compile my very long and comprehensive newspaper article that I intend to publish both here and in the UK entitled Welcome to Little Bay - Closed For Business! (Watch this space). Personally I'll be glad to get out of this ridiculous 'license agreement' and actually be somewhere where I can actually operate as my 'own' business and not the diktat of the MDC, my business is called and has always been called Monty's Dive Centre and Bar, it has never, and will never be called The Montserrat Development Corporation Dive Centre and Bar! It's with a combination of regret and much relief to tell you that the MDC have given me a week's notice to leave my bar and dive centre in Little Bay. I have h...ad constant and continual hassle from them since I started my business in January, much so that I actually gave notice after opening for a just few weeks! I assume the Montserrat 'Development' Corporation is an ironic title bestowed upon them, because a more apt name should be the Montserrat 'Destruction' Corporation! But hey folks don't worry about Monty or Monty's Dive Centre because I have had a number of offers to relocate to other venues where the evil tentacles of the MDC can't reach, I'm afraid they picked on the wrong dude in Monty! So, thanks for your wonderful support and I can assure you that I will build the business that I intended to run in this great place without the hindrance and ignorance of the Montserrat Destruction Corporation, indeed in spite of them. In the interim I will continue trading from Little Bay until my new premises are ready. All the best Monty See more

After the success of the 1st visit last week to Redonda, I'm looking to take another trip this week, and again spaces are strictly limited. The price for this safari will be $60 for snorkelling / spear fishing and $120 for a 2 tank dive. This is a fantastic opportunity to visit and dive this spectacular rock so don't miss out! Monty

Sadly one of our pilots - Jonathan is leaving Montserrat and to give him a right royal send off I'm holding a party for him this Friday evening. The theme of the party will be a 'Dirty Dancing' themed disco so spread the word and let's give him a night he won't forget in a hurry! Monty

OK Guys and Girls, here's the news you've all been waiting for (only joking!) Monty's Tavern and Dive Centre will be having its Scottish themed 'Burns Night' grand opening this Friday (31st) Kick off will be around 7pm for complimentary rum punch followed by Scottish lassie Becky playing traditional Scottish folk and shanty tunes on here flute. At 9pm the fantastic Emerald Community Choir singers will be singing a selection of nautical songs, following this we will have a bag...pipe parade of the Haggis and Robbie Burns's poem the Address to the Haggis. After the Haggis is slain she shall be devoured on authentic Scotch potato scones (a veggie Haggis will be available as well for the squeamish and vegetarians of course!), and if you still have the energy a disco will be playing till the 'wee small hours' as we will be celebrating Hogmany a few months early!
