Have you heard about Self Talk before? It's your internal dialogue influenced by your subconscious mind, & it reveals your thoughts, beliefs, & ideas. Your self talk can be both negative & positive. What we're talking about is moving your internal dialogue towards a more positive self talk. Let's revamp your mind into telling you the amazing things about yourself that others see. Over the next five Mondays (including today) we're going to teach you how important positive self talk is & how powerful your mind is.

Feeling SAD? (Seasonal Affective Disorder) As you may have noticed - Fall is upon us! And the winter blues are not far behind. SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) affects approximately 1 in every 10 people this far north of the equator - disproportionately affecting those already depressed, young adults, and is four times more common in women SAD lights provide phototherapy - an effective way of combatting SAD through regulating melatonin and serotonin - chemicals in our body ...which govern our sleep and mood. SAD lights provide 10 000 lux (a measurement of brightness) which is 100 times more powerful than regular indoor lighting SAD lights are available at MDAM for the low cost of $200 (and yes, we take card) For more information or to make a purchase, contact (204)-560-1461, or email [email protected] Pickups are available Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 9am-4pm, and Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm-8pm. LIMITED SUPPLY AVAILABLE - Get yours now while you can! For more information: http://www.mooddisordersmanitoba.ca/services/sad-lights/

Happy International Pronouns Day! Let's educate on what pronouns are. You can't tell someone's gender by looking at them. These pronouns bring awareness to something that many people might not have thought about before. The discussion around gender pronouns provides further education as to why it's an important part of people's identity that should be respected. For cis persons, this is a simple way to create an inclusive environment for trans & non-binary people, & it help...s get rid of the idea that gender expression always equals gender identity. Try adding your pronouns to your email signatures, social media accounts & in person to aide in the inclusive movement.
