World Bee Day Today we celebrate the most important species, our favourite insect... ! If you saw our stories earlier this week, you may have seen that we found a dead bumblebee in our garden. It’s been L’s favourite thing to observe! Together we learned the different types of bees there are and how important they are for flowers, plants and our food supply! The world feels so heavy right now. Praying for peace and safety for all. We’ve been using our affirmation disks from @aurakidsco in our sensory play. And it made me stop and think. How much different our world could be if we all practiced positive affirmations? Would we have this much hate? This much violence? It’s so easy to turn a blind eye to what’s happening in the world simply because we aren’t the ones facing it. We see humans, but no humanity. I’m glad we’re able t...o start positive affirmations with my daughter at a young age, so that she can not only love herself, but love others with kindness, empathy, and with humbleness. I recently watched a live on intersectionality and motherhood hosted by @coloursofmama. One of the speakers said something that stood out to me the most. It can be pretending to be someone or something, pretend play, drawing/painting or using a variety of materials to express children’s ideas, experiences or simply what’s important to them. ... Playdough has a variety of developmental and sensory benefits for children. Some being fine motor skills, tactile, cognitive and so on. But my favourite is definitely CREATIVITY! Easter Tree House! Lele had a blast playing with this small world play! She was so imaginative with the bunny’s and chicks, creating and telling stories. She harvested the carrots and planted them. Played hide and seek, fed the chicks and bunnies, and so much more! This activity lasted well over an hour!
