Hey all, Nick Knock here! I’m writing this to inform you my time in Moon Tan has sadly come to an end. Playing with these guys has been some of the most wonderful, memorable, priceless experiences I’ll ever have; from the countless hours crafting material in the jamspace for y’all to shake your booty at (or make you count on your fingers), to the many trips back and forth across our beautiful country meeting the coolest people and seeing the many different incarnations of McD...Continue reading

When is the last time you looked up at the sky? Like, REALLY looked up at it for a while. You temporarily peeled your face away from your phone screen, and for a moment gave a second to deliberately fathom your own existence as a seemingly individual parcel of consciousness on a giant spinning rock, flying through an ever-expanding universe? This experience has a tendency to be at least a semi-humbling one, and sometimes helps to view certain things in your own life from a di...fferent angle. Some people value life differently. While a person may make it their purpose to protect a natural ecosystem of animals, that same person might crush a ladybug without giving a second thought. What creates the distinction between valuing certain forms of life and not valuing others, and where is that critical line of choice created? Regardless of a specific answer, the truth is we are all sharing this planet that we exist on as a home, whether we want to or not. This is everyone’s home. From the blade of grass, to the human being. All land boarders are imagined and created in the mind, and agreed upon by humans. As a logical-bare minimum, if you value your own life as a human being, you should value the life of another human being that you’re sharing you’re home with. This seems like a fundamentally obvious way to live. To deem a particular human’s life-worth as inferior or superior based on physical appearance is a pretty unintelligible decision. No human being is in a position to make such a judgement. A society is composed of individuals. Some of the most powerful things the individual can do are to develop their own level of self-awareness, educate themselves, and regularly humble themselves. Through this, compassion will be born. Look up at the sky sometime!
