'Dr. Cochrane said she was able to complete her education journey with the help and support of her community, and especially Dr. Sara Goulet. "It has made a world of difference," said Cochrane of her mentorship. "I felt other people knew what was going on and I was a little bit lost at times, I felt a lot of imposter syndrome . . . And so seeing her, just a strong Indigenous woman being amazing in medicine and holding leadership positions and being such an advocate for her ...patients, was so impactful for me."' A Grade 7 class at Deerwood School in Thompson is addressing important topics as part of a class social justice project. Topics covered by the students include missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG), suicide awareness, free menstrual hygiene products, animal abuse and homelessness, along with slightly less emotional subjects like recycling and better roads, says student Zukanya Grant, 13. The whole project [is about topics] that we truly believe need to be b...rought up in Thompson or the world and that we feel close to our hearts, says Grant. https://www.thompsoncitizen.net//grade-7-deerwood-students

"By the time a girl reaches any of these (rites of passage), she has likely already developed a skill set for navigating the unwanted attention of adult men, and started to learn the delicate balance of signaling their own lack of interest, or of curtailing men’s interest, without escalating" What has been your experience? https://www.theguardian.com//teenage-girls-unwanted-adult-
