Good Morning MTMHA Members; We hope you are all doing well. We would like to provide your with an update on the 2020 /2021 season that unfortunately has come to an end. After the decision was made to move Lambton County into grey, St. Clair township has decided to remove the ice on rink 1 and begin much needed renovations on both ice surfaces. We wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone for making the 2020 / 2021 season as successful as it could have been.... We were fortunate enough to have a program where our players got out on the ice 2-3 times a week. It is unfortunate that the season has ended the way it did, we are happy we had what we did. Thank you to all of the players, coaches and parents for co-operating with the arena rules and guidelines. We understand it was a lot on not only the kids but everyone as a whole. Thank you to our MTMHA Executive for the amount of hours, meeting, and effort that went on behind the scenes. More so than any other season to date. Thanks to the St. Clair Township staff for working with us to develop a plan to get players safely back on the ice. Refunds will be coming as soon as they can. It’s a manual process and take extra time. We appreciate your patience. Our AGM will be happening using Zoom once again. Please do your best to attend. Voting for board positions will be done online. Good Evening Flags Family; Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out our latest return to play survey. The Hockey Committee worked hard this weekend to get us back on the ice for Tuesday. Players who are returning have been put into new squads and all are now posted on the website. Please go to your player's division and look for their name in one of the listed rosters. Schedules are posted on the team sites. ... *If you indicated your player is returning and you do not see them listed please contact Greg Armstrong. All players will be skating 1 time a week as long as we remain in red. If we do move into another colour the schedule will be adjusted. Important Information 1. Players must show up fully dressed (excluding skates & helmet). 2. Hockey bags are NOT allowed in the arena, players must carry their sticks, helmet & skates in. 3. Players will only be allowed in the arena 5 minutes prior to their scheduled ice time. 4. Everyone entering the arena will be required to complete the COVID screening. 5. Players must be out of the arena within 5 minutes following their ice time. 6. Dressing rooms are NOT open, seating will be set up for players to get their skates on. 7. Dressing room #6 will be open for bathroom use ONLY. 8. There will be no scrimmaging at the practices in red. 9. Players need to make every effort to remain a sticks length apart while on the ice. 10. Each player will be allowed to have 1 parent / guardian in the arena with them. * If you have been told my LPH to self isolate, if you have been in contact with a COVID positive, if you have traveled outside of Canada or have any COVID symptoms you are NOT permitted in the arena. Please go over these rules with your player prior to their first skate. Good evening Flags family; We hope everyone is healthy and enjoying the first part of 2021. The MTMHA hockey committee has recently met to discuss options to return for remainder of the Season. We want to give our membership the opportunity to voice whether or not they want to return to finish out this season.... MTMHA's first priority is to keep our kids safe, while also allowing them to stay healthy, get some exercise, and enjoy the game we all love. We have put trust in the safety precautions that have been outlined by OHF, OMHA, Lambton Public Health and the Township of St. Clair. MTMHA hockey is set to resume the week of March 1 after we collect data from our membership to help us plan the remainder of the season, and if the majority of players wish to return. (See Form Link Below) Right now, we would return to play following survey answers while still under Red Covid Colour Level. We have hopes that we will transition to Orange or better in the coming weeks. Regardless of our colour code we are prepared to operate hockey activities within approved precautionary measures. If we operate under a Red Level, we will be restricted to groups of a maximum of 10 players, and 2 on-ice Coaches or Trainers. One Parent/Guardian per Family will be permitted in the arena. Red Level Precautions will restrict use of dressing rooms and players will have to come fully dressed, from head to toe, including skates. Players not fully dressed would not be allowed access to the facility, until such time as they are fully dressed. With only ten players on the ice, players will get a new opportunity to get enhanced coaching, and more teaching during this phase. No games/ scrimmages will be played during red. Refunds would be prorated once season is completed based on how much icetime was achieved during this phase (likely 1 skate / week). If you opt out now, your refund will be the same as previously announced. If we transition to a Level Orange or better we will continue the season with similar programing format used prior to our pause in December. Depending on the participation levels there may be some shuffling of players to accommodate restrictions. To help us plan, Please complete the attached Return to Hockey On-line form prior to Thursday Feb 25 11:00 pm. This form has been emailed to members and can also be accessed on the MTMHA website. Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Welcome Back !!! We have GREAT news!! We will be back on the ice in Mooretown in just two weeks time! The doors will open back up for us starting on Monday, March 1st through April 12th. The hockey committee has been working hard behind the scenes and will be releasing an updated schedule and info on groupings. This will all be communicated as soon as it is finalized.... Refunds for missed ice time due to the arena closure will be issued at the end of the hockey season. If you have questions regarding our return to play or if your player will not be returning please contact VP Hockey Operations Greg Armstrong ASAP. *If you indicated your player would not be returning on the survey sent out last month you do not need to contact anyone. You will be refunded.

Cash calendar stubs DUE December 30th! (Box outside of the arena) 1st draw happens on January 1st!! All Cash Calendars have been given to the coaches and your players should have received them over the weekend (3 per family). The stubs need to be in by December 30th. ... There is a grey drop box on the wall of the arena outside of the entrance. Please put the stubs in there, or contact Kim Sylvester to make other arrangements. We would like to say a big thank you to the Mooretown Sports Complex staff for their quick actions during tonight's lock down. Thank you for handling what could have been a very scary situation for some of our youngest skaters with such professionalism. Practice Squad Information On October 19th we will move into our next phase of our Return to Play for the 2020 / 2021 season. Players in U11 divisions and up... have been placed in "Practice Squads" with those players of similar caliber based on recommendations from Hockey Canada and our Hockey Committee. This next phase will run from October 19th to November 15th as we are still currently in stage 3b of the OHF Return to Play. These "Practice Squads" will follow the current schedule until November 2nd when rink 2 is operational. "Practice Squads" will be evaluated and may have minor changes to them after November 15th. Coaches have been assigned to each group during this period. *Info on the next phase for U9 and below will be released soon. Please reference your player's appropriate age group on the website to see what "Practice Squad" they are part of. The schedule is now posted online. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ On September 25th Mooretown Sports Complex issues a Public Notice. We are reminding our members (players, parents, coaches) how important it is to adhere by the rules, restrictions and guidelines set out by the MSC.... We cannot stress enough how important this is. As an association we are continuing to work closely with the MSC and we need our members to do the same.

On September 26th we will move into our next phase of the 2020 / 2021 season. All players in all age division have been sorted into "Cohorts" that they will practice with from September 26th - October 18th. There will likely be some additions & deletions to these groups as numbers change in regards to registration. Please keep in mind these "Cohorts" are temporary. GOALIES - You will notice we have not listed any goalies in the "Cohorts", goalies will be rotating at 2 / prac...tice. Coaches will put a schedule together and contact goalies individually. U5 / Instructional - Schedule & "Cohorts" will be posted on the website by the end of the week. Thank you for your continued patience. **U9 & above will start this "cohort" practice phase beginning the weekend of September 26th **U5 & U7 will start the weekend of October 3rd. One of our own MTMHA Alumni, Dylan Dupuis has just signed with the Mooretown Flags of the Provincial Junior Hockey League. The 16-year-old winger had 19 goals and 10 assists in 35 regular season and playoff games with the Lambton Jr. Sting U-16 squad last season. He also a game each with the Sting U-18 team and the Sarnia Legionnaires. Welcome home Dylan! Congratulations!

The Brown family spent many years with MTMHA, not only as players but Stacey volunteered on the MTMHA Executive. As many of you may know Chris Brown is courageously fighting a battle with Cancer. Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been many restrictions in place as far as being able to support this family.
