Last night, as part of Scouts Canada Great 8 Challenge, Moose on the Loose, our Cubs planned a 5.8 km hike in Wakamow Valley Authority. Check it out and give it a try using the Trailforks app on your phone using the following link. https://www.trailforks.com//mj-cubs-moose-on-the-loose-hi/ #survivewithles

It’s popcorn time! The Scout popcorn fundraiser is back but looks different this year. There is a new supplier which means new products to try out!... This is a virtual fundraiser only and ships directly to your home. Visit www.scoutpopcorn.ca to view the products. When checking out, select Scouting Group and find/choose Moose Jaw Kinsmen Scout Group. Fundraiser runs until June 15.

Our group can use some dedicated, passionate volunteers to help us grow and offer our programming to additional youth. Please checkout this video and reach out to us through a DM if you’d like to learn more about the process. The sentiments mentioned in this video would be echoed by all of our existing volunteers - it really is a rewarding experience.

There’s no need to stay inside in the winter. There’s lots of opportunities for outdoor adventures right here in the city.

Thanks to Wakamow Valley Authority for the use of their snowshoes today. We had a lot of fun on this beautiful November day. Our group is extremely lucky to have such an amazing park space right here in the city to explore and learn new skills.

"As the young leaders of today, Scouting youth can set a positive example to Canadians by wearing a poppy to honour and recognize the freedom we enjoy thanks to... our Veterans, and those currently serving our country." - Council Youth Commissioner, Kaelem M. On #RemembranceDay and each day throughout the year, #CanadaRemembers. We are thankful for Canada's Veterans who have, or continue to, serve our country. #LestWeForget :: Black Press Media, BC Local News (2019)

It sure was good to get back to Scouting with our Cubs and Beavers this week. This week was special as we awarded some new woggles to two of our Scouters who completed their Wood Badge 1 training and had some beavers swim up to cubs. We also have a new look after handing out all new green and yellow neckers to our members courtesy of our group’s sponsor the Moose Jaw Kinsmen. A giant thanks to them for their continued support.

With nearly all of our families returning to scouting this fall, we had few openings in our group and both of our sections, Beavers and Cubs, are currently at capacity. While we’d love to be able to accommodate all that are interested, there is a need to cap our sizes to ensure that we are providing a safe program.

We’ve had lots of new likes to this page over the past few weeks, so welcome to all that are new to the page! I suspect that some of you are interested in registration information for the fall. There’s still lots of unknowns resulting in the delay of registration, but we’ll be sure to post information here when it opens provided that there is space available in our sections after reaching out to individuals on our waitlist. You can add your youth to that waitlist by creating a profile on myScouts.ca. Finally, please reach out to us if you are interested in volunteering with the group and we can walk you through the process.
