Sask Rugby is launching an indoor Flag Rugby league with a target start date (restrictions permitting) of January 9th. The league will run on Saturday evenings from 6-9pm at a cost of $40 per person for the season. All sessions will be at the Regina Sports Performance Center. We have decided to reserve a team slot for anyone from Moose Jaw would would be interested in participating. Despite not being able to run a program this year thanks to grant funding from Sask Rugby we were still able to acquire 55 pairs of uniform shorts and socks in both adult and youth sizes. Having this kit on hand should help us as we continue to work towards fielding Adult and Junior Rugby programs next spring. Why not return the favor and try your luck at Sask Rugby's 50/50 draw?

Registration for our Summer/Fall non-contact program is now open!. Registration is online only at https://rugbycanada.sportlomo.com/ We're looking forward to getting everyone back out onto the field and new players are always welcome, Non-Contact (touch) rugby is an excellent way to learn the basics of the game. In accordance with Sask Rugby's Return to Play plan we have some safety measures in place to help reduce the risk of COVID 19. Hand sanitizer will be available on yo...ur arrival at the field, Rugby balls will sanitized after every session. Due to attendance tracking requirements all players must be registered and "drop ins" can not be accommodated. Players will be required to complete a web based health check before each session. For anyone who is interested in playing Rugby but would prefer not to participate at this time we understand, feel free to get in touch so we can add you to our contact list for the future. We recommend that persons who identify as being particularly vulnerable to COVID 19 not participate at this time.

With cloth masks becoming mandatory in more and more cities and recommended in social settings, would anyone be interested in a cloth mask? Cost is $15/ea. We need a minimum 15 to make an order so send me a message if your interested.

Everyone should have received a "Return to Play" survey in their email. If you did not receive it please message me. This is one of the first steps in Sask Rugby's return to play strategy. If you didn't have a chance to come out last winter but you are interested in playing Rugby in Moose Jaw send us a message and say hello.

Rugby Canada has released an update on a "Return to Play" strategy for resuming Rugby this summer. You can find it in the link below. In the mean time you can help us by having a drink!. We have a Drop and Go SARCAN account set up under the phrase "MJRugby", and SARCAN will be re-opening June 15th. You might have one or two empty bottles to get rid of after all this isolation nonsense, so help us out by sorting them and dropping them off using the phrase "MJRugby". Rugby Ca...nada has stated that they want to have their Return to Play strategy out by June 30th, so there is still hope for some Rugby this summer or fall. As with most organizations Rugby Canada has joined in the efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. All sanctioned Rugby activities in Canada (including practices) will be halted until April 10th. This means that the launch of our indoor training for both the Senior and Junior programs will be pushed back. No previous Rugby experience is required, this program will teach the rules of the game as well as the fundamentals of tackling and the game of Rugby. For the younger kids its lots of silly games to teach basic ball handling and for the older kids it moves towards teaching touch/flag rugby. It's cold outside, you should get a hoodie to keep you warm. We are doing a small clothing order leading up to the holidays. We have Hoodies (which I am told are in fact NOT bunny hugs as the center pouch is two small pockets and not one big pouch) and T-shirts available for sale. The T-shirt is available in a Men's and a Women's cut. The Women's cut has a shallow scoop neck. Hoodies are $65... Due to the fantastic turnout I've been able to fill in the missing week in November. We now have an additional night of touch rugby next Wednesday (Nov. 20th) at 7 pm at the Yara center on the Blue field (same spot, same time) There is no extra cost for this night, its included in the $45 you've already paid. To recap we now have two nights of rugby (Nov 20th and 27) and then our Rib and Caesar night on Dec 14th to finish out the year. Tickets for the Caesar night will be av...ailable for purchase on Wednesday nights or by emailing, please don't leave it till the last minute since Bugsy's needs numbers to order the food. Their match of the day (which can only pray will be Canada) is now on at 1:30pm Canada's first game at the Rugby World Cup is coming up Sept. 26 and our friends at Bugsys Irish PUB have agreed to show the game when it replays at 1:30pm on TSN1. ... They've offered us 1/2 price appetizers and 3.99 Pilsner pints as well, making it a much better idea than waking up at 01:45 to watch it live.

Dates and times for our winter indoor touch sessions have been confirmed, we will be running: Oct 30th Nov 6th Nov 13th... Nov 27th All sessions are from 7-8pm Cost is $45 per person to cover the field rental, based on a minimum of 12. Last night for outdoor touch tonight. Minor Football has the use of the Rugby Fields so we're moving to the soccer fields at Admiral Cres and Normandy Dr in VLA at 7:30. If you haven't made it out yet it's never too late! Also working on setting up some indoor touch this winter, most likely Wednesday nights in November at 7pm, more details to come when Yara gets back and confirms the dates.

It seems Rugby Canada is not televising (or streaming) any of the Pre-RWC matches, so we have been forced to cancel our get together at Bugsy's. Once TSN gets around to publishing their World Cup schedule we may try again if the games are rebroadcast at decent times.
