As many may have heard, as it was during the first lockdown, the Province has deemed Garden Centres essential. While we are grateful as a small business to be able to open our doors during this difficult time, we can’t help but be concerned for the safety of our staff, families and community given the numbers we’ve seen lately. We have gone back and forth on what to do since receiving confirmation that we can be open, as we want to ensure we open as safely and responsibly as ...we can. We encourage people to keep an eye on both our social media and website. We have been working diligently on updating our website to include everything in our Christmas shop and will gladly continue to accept phone orders and provide curbside pick up. We have posted photos in our story highlights of the displays in the store to help with browsing our store remotely. As always, our greens, porch pots, Christmas trees, tree toppers and wreaths are available outside. While we will open our doors, we will operate at less than the recommended 25% capacity, limiting the number of shoppers in the store to a maximum of 5 people at one time. Please understand that this could mean a short wait time before entering the store. Masks, social distancing and sanitizing practices will be strictly enforced and we continue to ask that if you do not feel well, please stay home. We want to thank our customers for your patience and understanding as we try our best to navigate these unprecedented times.

Water is one of the most critical ingredients for your plants, especially when they are in the first years of establishment. We have been seeing a lot of plants planted this season showing signs of dehydration. There has been very little natural moisture the last few weeks and it doesn’t look like there’s anything sufficient forecasted in the near future for our area. Please read ahead for tips on how to ensure your plant is getting the water it needs! If the top 2 inches ...of the soil is dry it is time to water. Water deeply and slowly to ensure the entire root ball is saturated, early in the morning or a couple hours before sunset. Less frequent, deep watering are more beneficial than watering a little bit every day. If there seems to be adequate moisture, do not water as you may drown or damage the plant. Over watering is just as bad as under watering. See more
