Im not one to get fired up on social media about today's news, but I dont think it would be right of me to sit quiet and not share my experiences with Butter. A...s a former player with the Swift Current Broncos who spent 4 years with the team, I feel this media release does nothing but defame a great man that has not only bent over backwards for this team, but also for his community. I know myself, and a lot of other former players would openly speak out and defend Butters character, but are left in the darkness of this twisted media release. Butter has put his heart and soul into this organization and would do anything to protect those players in the dressing room. The statment the Broncos released is so unclear, leaving the public the opportunity to allege such sickening remarks towards Jamie, and its incredibly inappropriate. During my time with the team, Butter ment a tonne to everyone in that rink. He was the soul of the dressing room. For those kids playing who felt like they didn't have voice, they always knew they had a friend to talk to in Jamie. It didn't matter if you were a 1st line, or 4th line player - Butter always respected each guy, and showed everyone the same kindness. Butter would back the players, even if it ment speaking up for them on occasion. This same person described in the media release, is the same person that was so well respected, a sign was put up in his honour just last year. This doesn't make sense to me, what's changed? For all the countless hours he put into that dressing room, away from his family, taking on a role of which many other teams would have 3 trainers doing, I feel the dismissal is poor. Butter did it all! He proved his worth with a team that won the WHL Title. I'm still unclear of the terms of his dismissal, but I'd like to personally thank Butter for everything he had done while I was a young member of this organization. I sincerely hope Butter has the chance to speak for himself in regards to his dismall, if he so chooses. But I want him to know, I don't believe the words written in that release. I never once felt degraded, threatened or disrespected by him. He's a stand up guy and I wish him and his family clarity through all of this. #betterwithbutter See more
