We are excited to announce that Shawn Hickey has joined Morley Hoppner as Vice President of Operations! With over 32 years of construction and operations experience on-site and in the office, Shawn has held multiple management and executive leadership roles during his career. Shawn brings with him significant project management, preconstruction, and process-based solutions to the Morley Hoppner team. As a member, inaugural Fellow, past president and board member of the Tilt-...Up Concrete Association, Shawn’s field and planning skillsets were instrumental in creating the Superintendent Certification training program for the American Concrete Institute. Shawn’s #tiltup, #concrete, and #construction expertise is second to none, having been recognized by his peers and Associations with numerous prestigious awards, including the Five Most Influential People in the Concrete Industry in 2013, by Concrete Construction. Shawn is a sought-after public speaker, having presented an overabundant number of construction-based seminars to the industry annually. Mr. Hickey will bring his design and development experiences to the Morley Hoppner team, incorporating lessons learned from over a hundred new development and construction projects across five countries. We are seeing progress at 151 Chapel Street! In June 2019, Morley Hoppner partnered with Trinity Development Group to construct Phase 1 of a redevelopment to 1.06 acres on the North East corner of Rideau and Chapel in Ottawa’s #Lowertown. The first phase includes a #mixeduse 25 story tower with 315 apartments over a ground floor retail space and 3 levels of underground parking. It features a nine-story podium overlooking Rideau Street, dedicated #bicycle parking, and a pedes...trian connection that will provide access from Rideau Street to the internal courtyard. Morley Hoppner has worked closely with Trinity and the design team to provide #constructability, #innovation, and #valueengineering design advice.
