I have been receiving a lot of inquiries about information regarding mortgage deferral payments. if you are experiencing financial hardship because you have been personally impacted by COVID-19 there is help available. All three insurers (CMHC, Genworth and Canada Guaranty) AND Banks /Lenders are setting protocols in place during these challenging and uncertain times to address payment difficulties caused by the current COVID-19 pandemic. ... Please call your respective lender If you are not able to make your next mortgage payment or if you have been temporarily laid-off. Be proactive and call BEFORE you miss your first mortgage payment as options may be greatly reduced if you have already missed a mortgage payment or two. Each case is treated on a case-by-case basis and so it's important to call your mortgage lender as soon as possible.
