Bank of Canada has slashed its key interest rates for the third time in only a matter of weeks. Due cost of funds and liquidity issues consumers have not seen these discounts. We have been seeing Fixed interest rates rise over the last week as well as variable rate discounts disappear. Bank of Canada released breaking news this morning cutting it's key interest rate by 0.50%! The big banks have also followed cutting prime rate by 0.50%. Great news for anyone in a variable rate mortgage or a line of credit as your payments will be going down!
