Canada's Housing Market Outlook! #canadianrealestate #CanadianHousingMarket #housingmarket2021 https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca//canada-s-housing-market-faces
The Minister of Finance announced yesterday they will align the 'insured' qualifying rate with OSFI's increase to the 'uninsured' rate of 5.25% effective June 1, 2021. https://www.canada.ca//statement-by-the-deputy-prime-minis This means all mortgages will need to qualify based on the higher of contract rate plus 2% or 5.25%.... This qualifying rate increase may reduce your purchasing power by 4.0-5.0%, compared to today's qualifying rate. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions on how this change specifically affects your situation!
