Estamos muy orgullosas de poder trabajar con madres todos los días. Hoy queremos reconocer el aporte invaluable e insustituible que las madres andinas y de todo el mundo hacen al transferir sus conocimientos ancestrales a sus hijos/as y nietos/as. Sin su esfuerzo, paciencia y sabiduría se perdería la tradición textil quechua, la lengua ancestral de los incas y tantas otras piezas del patrimonio cultural.... Hoy las honramos por todo lo que hacen para mantener vivo el tejido de nuestro mundo, la diversidad de nuestra humanidad y el futuro de su cultura. Gracias por su sabiduría y habilidades. Gracias por lo que les dan a sus hijos. Son mujeres guerreras. We are so proud to be able to work with mothers every single day. Today, we would like to recognize the invaluable and irreplaceable contribution that Andean mothers - and mothers all over the world - make to this world by transferring their ancestral knowledge to their children and grandchildren. Without their effort, patience, and wisdom, the Quechua textile tradition, ancestral language of the Incas, and so many other pieces of cultural heritage would be lost. Today, we honour you. CASA MOSQOY WORKSHOP After three months of virtual classes, all of our Youth Program students and staff reunited in Casa Mosqoy for a day of fun and learning. It was an unforgettable experience! Thank you for providing these spaces to talk about sustainability and the actions that have been taking place in highland communities. We also wanted to thank our Mosqoy members for their sharing their knowledge and ideas during these three days, and for their dedication when it comes to sharing our programs and working with weavers and youth in our partnering communities. We found that the Tinkuy Virtual offered a space to discuss what sustainability means in practice, in Peru today, and how the tourism sector could become more sustainable. In sum, it must be something much more holistic and forward-thinking than just focusing on the economy. It must also include culture, society, and the environment. And above all, it must include - and prioritize - community voices.
