Was a great weekend!!! Had wonderful weather to get a good start working with Ace and Deuce our 2yr old geldings by Echo Amos Hollywood! Both are doing great and close to being ready to ride. Big brother Max (3) is also getting back into the swing of riding and is feeling really good. Looking forward to the season!

What a great ride on this awesome 3yr. old! Huge thanks to Joe for keeping the arena cleared for the winter, about 2/3 of it is dry and great footing already! Beautiful and great horses make a wonderful day!

Momma Missy is not all spoiled!!! Lol. She was disappointed that I didn’t feed any super yummy second cut hay this morning so decided she wasn’t going out until she got some! Meanwhile I clean the stalls. Poor, mistreated mare!

Absolutely do not feed any animal without the owners express permission and a discussion of what would be permissible. Some horses can have issues that even a carrot or apple or even a handful of grass could cause major health issues.

Rolled out a bale this morning for the horses. Bought some 1st cut bales from Mark Bachmann that were cut and baled late August. They are pretty good bales but with them being made late in the season they are a little more course and that’s why we don’t put them in our feeder. We roll one out every weekend and the horses clean them up pretty good. What is scattered around on the ground is what is left from last Friday.

Brought big daddy Echo (Echo Amos Hollywood) in for some grooming and attention and to get his new blanket on. Such a sweet guy, though it gets a little interesting when the rest of the horses start running around and being crazy right when I’m leading him in. . Once inside he was very good and enjoyed some yummy second cut hay during his grooming session.

While our horses are happily settling into one big group for winter (other than Echo) and enjoying the mild weather, we want to remind everyone that due to the restrictions of the public health orders we are closed at this time. Meaning that we aren’t allowed to do any lessons at this time. Stay safe everyone!

The smell of fall is in the air! But this afternoon we got rid of that and put a different fragrance in the air. It was too wet last year to get rid of the manure but this year the weather has been a little more cooperative to do a good clean up. Sorry to everyone down wind... but poop happens!! lol

This lovely mare is sold. Ella, Ultimate Party Doll is a 2017 dual registered AQHA/APHA mare that’s looking for a new home. Broodmare or companion only due to... a stifle injury. Sweet mare, halter broke, was injured as a 2 yr old just as she was starting training. Good conformation and lovely movement. Up to date on vaccines and deworming and trims. 500 PM please This beautiful mare gets around just fine and has no extra medical expenses. She’s able to walk, trot, lope and gallop but has a bit of a hitch in her stride. I would like to move her sooner than later as she gets picked on by the other horses a bit and I can’t keep her in a private pen long term.

Brandy is definitely growing up! She’s graduated to her own stall when in for grain and and a snooze. . This is just her second time by herself and I don’t think she could be more relaxed about it!

1st crop is in the shed. We were going to leave the hay out for another week to go through it’s heating process, but after doing some research on what the temperature of the hay could be to be safe too store inside. We decided it was well within the safe zone. Plus it’s supposed to be raining tomorrow! Even though it rained within an hour after getting done, which wasn’t in the forecast!!! A big thank you to Cheryl’s co-workers Calvin, Ryan Z, Ryan B, and Aaron for coming over and helping stack up the square bales since Cheryl is still healing from a broken foot and I’m still recovering from a double barrel in the chest! Hopefully we can get our small field of greenfeed off dry when it’s ready to be cut and praying we get a second cut this year!

First crop is almost done. Just have to haul the round bales into the shed which will happen in about a week and a half. We leave them on the field for a while incase they have a damp spot in them. Rather have them get hot on the field then in the shed. We’re loving our little Kubota we got a couple of years ago. We’ve got 500+ hours on it with no regrets. Go ORANGE POWER!!!
