Crazy sock day and fun at daycare We've been learning some great techniques with play dough! "Roll, roll, roll" makes a snake! "Circle, circle, circle" make a ball! Smmmuuuuusssshhhhhh" makes it flat like a pancake!... We also had a great time on Crazy Sock Day! We learned what we can do with markers while decorating our socks. "Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth" makes a line! "Dot, dot, dot. Dot, dot, dot" makes dots! Highlights from Christmas Month! We celebrated and did Christmas activities all month long! We got a new playhouse that we decorated with snow, put lights on some trees and had spirit days! Red and Green Day, Christmas Hat Day, Ugly Christmas Sweater Day and Pyjama Day during our Christmas Party. We decorated gingerbread cookies, made 2 different tree ornaments, sang Jingle Bells and other Christmas songs, and had a Christmas photo shoot. Highlights from Paw Patrol Week The love for Paw Patrol in this group is huge! We did a lot of colour sorting this week, matching up the characters and their colours. We found many things throughout our space that matched the colour of each pup! Highlights from Halloween Week We celebrated 2 weeks of Halloween! We coloured Halloween pictures, made hand print spiders; ghost, pumpkin and black cat patterns, made Jack O'Lantern pictures with apple stamping, we made paper mummies with pictures of our faces on them and we painted mini pumpkins. We had sensory play with orange rice and tiny, black, plastic spiders! We had "Halloween Shirt Day", "Black & Orange Day" and a Halloween Party! We carved a pumpkin and after guesses of "bats", "more pumpkins", and "mommies and daddies"; we discovered that pumpkins are full of seeds and squishy stuff! Highlights from Thanksgiving Week We celebrated Thanksgiving all week long! We made Turkey headbands - we traced our hands for the turkey tails and traced our feet for the turkey bodies. We painted yellow on paper to make pictures of corn, we made a cornucopia craft, a delicious pumpkin pie and had a Turkey dinner for our Friday lunch! We sang "If You're Thankful and You Know It Clap Your Hands" and the sweetest little hand print turkeys also went home for Thanksgiving. #motherhenhomedaycare #bracebridgedaycare #muskokadaycare #thanksgivingweek

Highlights from Fall Week The colours in fall are so beautiful! We incorporated lots of colour in to our crafts, dabbing leaves on trees, colouring over leaves to reveal the textures, coloured scarecrows and traced our hands to make a leaf garland to take home.
