February 14th is the Women's memorial March and Red Dress Project. This year because we weren't able to gather in groups we sent in support photos. This is one of mine.

Our culture in America really downplays how hard and life changing becoming pregnant, being pregnant, giving birth and postpartum stages are. Some women risk their lives to bring another life into this world. This is why we need better education!! We need to talk about all these things mentioned and the many that aren'tentioned more freely so that new parents and parents trying to conceive understand that for some it is a wonderful experience but for many there are symptoms and complications that are very hard to get through. And some women suffer in silence because they do not know that these things are very common and may be afraid to speak about them.

Too cute. So incredible how all of out organs jist rearrange to make room for our growing uterus.

I didn't even think to share this earlier for the many women who are currently pregnant locally. If anyone is interested, it is all online.

Today is orange shirt day. A day to recognize the damage that residential school cause indigenous peoples. The effects of residential schools have trickled down through generations and effect the mother child bond. As an indigenous doula to be, I want to help bring those teachings back to the people. In order to do this we must first acknowledge and truly understand how damaging and horrific these schools really were.

Ten day countdown to the Manitoba-wide Facebook Live celebration of World Breastfeeding Week on Oct 3rd! Many speakers planned to celebrate Human Milk includin...g breastfeeding parents & families, support workers, physicians, researchers, environmental activists, politicians & others.
