Beau Stocker’s passion for knowledge and interest in percussion has brought him on an international journey of music study. After completing an MA in improvised music & jazz at the University of York in England, a motorcycle trip abroad turned into an immersive 3 year cultural experience with percussion in the Sudan culminating in a research project that combined East African rhythms & drum kit experience with improvised music concepts and a well earned PhD in Music. As a...n educator, Beau teaches with kindness, builds technique & understanding in careful ways that involve the student’s abilities and understanding in wise ways and demonstrates a wide range of musical styles in his approach. To say we are honoured to have him on our team would be an understatement. We look forward to introducing more of you to Beau and to the wonderful world of percussion!

I didnt want to interrupt him for a photo so was a little bit sneaky during an afternoon practice. Jeff plays music because he loves it and truth-be-told didnt take lessons as a child because he was a quiet guy and didnt cherish the spotlight. He still is & still doesnt.... Jordie takes time to get to know his students. Hes mindful to create a comfortable learning environment and builds on strengths. His wonderful cello students love playing so much that they got together this July for a physical distanced Cello gathering to share their music with each other and practice some ensembles too.
