Installing the brake pedal spring is usually a difficult process without the right tool to use. Attempts to use a screwdriver or vise-grip usually fail, often resulting in paint and / or skin damage. We decided to finally make a simple tool from a piece of round stock, milling a flat surface and then milling a groove. The tool works very well, and has now been added to the growing collection in our "Special Tools" drawer.

A while back, we purchased the proper tool to remove / install the slot nuts used on many Honda clutches. A similar tool is used to install the securing ring on many Honda ignition switches. The typical method of removing the ring is banging it loose with a hammer and flat screwdriver, which usually results in some damage. Having the means to do so, we decided to make the tool, which will reside in our "special tools" drawer when not being used.

1970 CT-70 trail bike . . . . painting is completed on the frame and we are very happy with the way it turned out. "We Aren't Painters" is our declaration, but using good automotive paint with a good spray gun, a proper rub-out after drying and finishing with a 2-step polish, we are very satisfied with the paint job !!

Honda 750 Brake Drum . . . . . wasn't sure if the drum would be too large for my lathe but it did fit with a bit of room to spare. The drum was in pretty good shape with only a slight bump in the middle, didn't take long to skim it off and put a good finish on it.
