Follow the race live as it happens on your smart phone or computer! Motomotion results will be live streamed over the internet via racetimerlive.com Who's in the lead, how's my favorite rider doing, are those ZERO electric bikes still in the hunt?....keep track of all of it as it happens.
We have zero to announce today... Actually, we have ZERO to announce today! For the first time in sanctioned XC racing, two ZERO electric motorcycles will be entered to race "head to head" against the internal combustion machines for 2 hours over Motomotion's course at Chicopee.... They should rocket off the start line and will probably be a sweet ride through the single track, but how will they handle the hills...the recharging...? We're really not sure, but it's going to be something to keep your eye on during the event. Best of luck to our two trail-blazing racers in ZERO's race debut!
Plastic? Fantastic! Who carries cash these days? No worries, when you show up to register on site at Chicopee for Motomotion you can pay your race entry fee using VISA, MC or Interac. Sign up will be located at the base of the racer parking lot/pits, right beside the Chicopee chalet. Don't bother to make a special stop on the way to the race to hit the ATM, whip out the plastic and ride!
Now the good news... Course layout is essentially complete. We've been working at Chicopee in between their kid's camp schedule and weddings...but we finally got it done. We had use of Chicopee's bulldozer operator all day yesterday to "enhance" some of the terrain. We've added a jump on the top of the ski hill, another small one on one of the downhill slopes and a table top jump down closer to the chalet. Nothing killer...I'm sure the MX guys will be stylin' on them, but all... have big landing areas and no gaps. Some new riders who will be working on race day as course marshals were out to ride last night. Cecile was also out doing a bit of riding and taking some pictures. Everybody was having a fun time out on the loop, we didn't get packed up to leave until dark.
Disappointing news to report on the Aeryon drone helicopter front today. Transport Canada recently imposed new regulations and a formal application approval process for use of these helicopters in Canada. Aeryon has been working diligently for the last two months with Transport Canada to get through the approval process, however we were just informed that there is such a back log in applications that we won't have Transport Canada approval in time to fly the helicopters during the event. It's a great idea, one we're not giving up on and will be working hard to bring to Motomotion II next year to make it even better.
