I’m honoured to paint a young Ace pilot, Clarence Emil (Bud) Anderson , United States Air Force and a triple ace pilot in World War II. During the war, he was the highest scoring ace in his P 51 Mustang squadron. In my painting the senior Veterans are gathered around him remembering the past as he tells his battle stories.

Norman Gill served with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and the Royal Canadian Air Force for nearly three decades. He died in June 2020 at the age of 107.

Captain Sir Thomas Moore, popularly known as "Captain Tom", is a former British Army officer and centenarian, known for his achievements raising money for charity in the run-up to his 100th birthday during the COVID-19 pandemic. After walking 100 laps of his garden, he raised more than 30 million for the National Health Service for Covid-19.

Lieutenant Colonel Robert Jones Friend was a Tuskegee airman during World War II and led the USAF's Project Blue Book from 1958 to 1963. He also served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He had a 28 year military career.
