[Weight Loss] Have you ever tracked your weight and been so frustrated with how you’ve progressed Have you ever weighed yourself to find that you’re way heavier than you were expecting, and felt discouraged? ... Here’s the thing... weight doesn’t tell the whole story The scale is just one of many TOOLS to use to help track progress. So what does the scale actually track then? BODYWEIGHT Things that our BODYWEIGHT can be an indicator of: - Fat mass - Lean mass (muscle) - Water retention - Inflammation - How much food or drinks you’ve had recently - How long you’ve gone without using the bathroom - Other random processes in the body you aren’t aware of that cause weight gain If your goal is just to lose fat- the scale should never be the only tool you use to track progress. It is very common to see dips and spikes on the scale, just as long as it trends in the direction you’re aiming for, based on your goals. OTHER WAYS TO SEE PROGRESS: progress photos strength increase increased endurance improved mobility improved posture energy increase improved cognitive function strong sense of self-confidence The scale can’t show you ANY of this. It’s time to focus more on THESE factors of growth, than obsessing over fat loss. Taking care of yourself is so much more important than being skinny.
