This waffle ceiling is lit! Literally. The trend of using shallow beams is continuing even on areas with large height. The decision was based on the remaining space to the top of the window frame yet compliments the minimalist decor very well. Television's most iconic family gets a makeover in eight different styles. What better way to portray architecture than using this infamous home. TUDOR housing is perhaps one of the most recognizable architectural styles. Characterized by slanted timber beams decorating the front-facing portion of the roofing, they often contain small groups of tall, narrow, and multi-paned windows for lots of natural light. COLONIAL architecture is a throwback to the period in history when s...ettlers were colonizing the continent. This style, found in both urban and rural settings, is characterized by square floorplans, symmetry, and straight rows of windows on the first and second floors. ART DECO signaled the beginning of modernity in architecture. Originally from France, the style features flat roofs, smooth stucco walls, and often bold decorations like zigzags, swans, lilies, and sunrise motifs. They're not very common in residential architecture. The roomy, light-filled LOG CABIN homes we find today arent quite the log cabins of the 1800s. Traditional frontier-style log homes were rectangular, contained only one room, and had at least one glass window, built to be sturdy and inexpensive. Designed with stucco walls and shallow, red-tiled roofing, MEDITTERANEAN architecture is a blend of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese building styles. Often boasting prominent arches alongside details like heavy wooden doors and ornate carvings. Featuring large windows, verandas, and balconies, its the ideal dwelling for those in warm, southern climates. Bringing much-needed warmth to the modern designs of the mid-20th century, CONTEMPORARY homes emphasize spaciousness, sustainability, and regional character. Youll often find simple, rustic materials, large windows and skylights. CAPE COD housing is one of the most beloved styles. Designed to cope with the frequently grisly weather conditions in the area, Cape Cod houses are single-story, dominated by moderately steep, durable roofs that can handle heavy snowfall. VICTORIAN housing is certainly not subtle. One of the most striking styles, it's features lots of brackets, spindles and scrollwork, a feast for the eyes.

Re-creating the White House for television requires painstaking detail. Physical tours allowed for visual accuracy in spaces like the Oval Office, West Wing and the Briefing Room. But since personal domains were off visitation limits, this presented opportunities for creative flair, adding design elements which factored character personalities into the equations. If this was assembled using traditional framing, it would have taken three times as many labour hours, spanning five to six days as well.
