‘Tis the season for ballet exam students showcasing their talent and dedication Congratulations to intensive ballet program students Genevieve Banfield, Claire Dinn, Sarah Earle, Brianna Halweg, Emily Pike, and teacher Sophie Lawson on completing their Cecchetti ballet exams yesterday! We could not be more proud of your accomplishment - preparing for an exam during a pandemic definitely presents unique challenges, and we are delighted that Cecchetti Canada offered the oppor...tunity to proceed with a video exam in place of a live exam. Well done to everyone on their perseverance, sheer hard work, and beautiful smiles during yesterday’s exams - it is so wonderful watching your passion for this art form and the Cecchetti method of ballet.

Congratulations to intensive ballet program students Brianna Halweg, Morgan Ford, Jillian Moran, and Amy Simms on completing their Intermediate RAD ballet exam this weekend via video! These girls began this exam journey in September 2019, were diligent in rehearsing over Zoom during quarantine, and have been bubbled together to train to make this exam a reality this Autumn. Girls, we are always proud of you - it is so special to have watched you grow from young children into ...the poised, strong, and elegant dancers you have become Congratulations on reaching this stage of your ballet journey! What a whirlwind weekend at the Elite Dance Productions competition! MPSD would like to extend heartiest congratulations to MPSD competition team members Sophie Bennett, Kirsty Henderson, Sara House, and McKenna Mercer for their incredible performances this past weekend in Sydney, NS. The girls brought home 1 high silver, 9 gold, and 12 high gold medals in addition to the following routines receiving special awards from the judges:... Sophie Bennett (Lyrical solo: I’m ready for love) Sara House & McKenna Mercer (Pointe duet: Verses) Verses was also the 4th highest scoring senior/teen duo/trio of the entire competition McKenna Mercer (Lyrical solo: Ne Me Quitte Pas) A massive congratulations to McKenna Mercer on dancing in the final Elite Dance Showdown, where her ballet solo ‘Clair de Lune’ was in the top 6 highest solo/duo/trios of the competition and then won the second place senior/teen solo/duo/trio for the Showdown. McKenna also received the following awards for the entire competition: Highest ballet mark (Clair de Lune) Highest musical theatre mark (Tough Lover) Best Overall Technique (Clair de Lune) Girls, congratulations on your fine dancing - we loved watching you from afar on the livestream, and cannot wait to celebrate with you in person in two weeks time.
