"Ancestors Calling" shares the rich culture through music and stories of award-winning musician Laura Vinson; a descendent of the early voyageur Louis Loyer. Laura Vinson and Dave Martineau of People & Peaks Productions, were nominated for the Best Original Musical Score (non-fiction over 30 minutes) for Ancestors Calling, by the 2015 Alberta Film and Television Rosie Awards. Ancestors Calling was also included in the BEST OF the Jasper Short Film Festival in 2014. The full documentary is 44:27 minutes. Group camping in the Alberta wilderness at Hide A Way Camp Located 34 km south of Grande Cache. Hide A Way camp is a group camp facility with cabins and a main lodge for meals and showers. The outdoor area had plenty of room for parking and RV's.... It offers unique, rustic lodging and a number of easily accessible recreation opportunities, ranging from canoeing or fishing at Pierre Grey lakes, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing on the well-developed and maintained network of trails. There are many bush trails for those that wish to take a stroll and enjoy the neighboring lakes and the local history. We are asking our youth to get creative and come up with a un...ique logo design that will represent the Mountain Metis Nation Association! We are looking for a way to capture our unique culture as the Mountain Metis. Use creative ways to use symbols related to Grande Cache Mountain Metis people specifically. Some examples would be: Mountains, metis sash, horses etc. The winning logo will be digitized and featured across all our platforms. CONTEST RULES You must be between the ages of 10 to 17 You must register with Sonia, Program Coordinator Email: [email protected] or through Facebook Messenger, or through Instagram Messenger, or finally by text 780-728-4362.
