I don't have any little humans of my own - but I'm damn proud to be the best mama I can be to all my animals. I am grateful for their unconditional love, and everything they teach me... even when they drive me absolutely insane today, and everyday should be celebrated to show our gratitude to all the mamas out there doin the best they can with what they have. to those who have moms, are soon-to-be... for those who have loved, who have lost or those amazing people playing a ...motherly figure in someones life... your love is timeless and cherished by all those you have touched thru the loss of one of my babies in the last year, it's taken awhile but I've finally forgiven myself. even though I may have thought I'd done everything I could, there's always been a part of me that feels sickened by it all... but nonetheless, being a mother of children, or animals : the universal compassion we hold for all living creatures is strong enough to enter the cosmos of space and time. wherever you are Raz - I know you are safe, you are so loved and you are giving all the hugs on the left side

"N’ha-a-itk" - the mysterious Ogopogo, a serpent-like mammal believed to have inhabited the Okanagan Lake (or maybe he still does?) this is one of my favorite designs, because it brings me back home to memories growing up in the Okanagan warm sunny days at the lake, pondering the idea of a giant beast swimming in the depths... it's pretty much a tourist attraction at this point, as there is a silly green serpent statue right downtown Kelowna, where you can buy t-shirts and gifts... generating money for the city. this situation is unfortunate as this whole Ogopogo thing has become a form of appropriation towards the Syilx People and their culture/knowledge. the whole story is pretty much a big miscommunication about what this "Lake Monster" really was... but I find the story told by the Syilx People themselves to be so fascinating if your interested in learning about this tale search for authentic stories told by the Syilx or "Okanagan People" and you will learn some cool stuff! here is something I found while reading up on the topic : It was a misunderstanding that became a misappropriation. What was once a benevolent water spirit became this virgin-devouring sea demon because when settlers came and they saw what they saw (and) they got spooked,
