JOB OPPORTUNITY (Festival by the Marsh) Paid Summer Stage Manager Internship in Sackville! Festival by the Marsh is back and we are looking for a Stage Manager and Theatre Practitioner who will stage manage and possibly act (or not) in the Festival by the Marsh's outdoor production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" which will be performed the week of August 9 at Fort Beausejour. Stage Management of the play will take up at least three quarters of the Intern's time. They will a...lso assist with workshops for young people, and assist with other administration and theatrical duties (including helping to organize costumes and props, researching topics, and other activities) for this summer festival. Preferred qualifications include: - Competent stage manager - Stage management or related experience preferred - Some knowledge of Shakespeare and his plays would be useful - Dependable - Works well with others - Other theatre related or administrative skills would be a benefit Deadline for applications is March 18. Mount Allison Drama Studies Program 22.04.2021

We’re excited to announce our new Crake Drama Fellow for the 2021-2022 year! Valmai Goggin! Please join us in welcoming Valmai who will join us in Sackville later this summer. Originally from Nova Scotia, Valmai has been professionally based in Calgary for over a decade, and has worked across Alberta as a Director, Dramaturg, Producer, and Educator. She holds an MFA in Directing from the University of Calgary and a BA in English and Drama from Mount Allison University. Her MFA thesis explored the staging and performance of memory in Michel Tremblay’s Albertine, in Five Times. Most recently, she was Associate Artistic Producer at Lunchbox Theatre, with a focus on new play development. As a proud Maritimer and Mount Allison alumna, Valmai is delighted to be returning to Sackville as the 2021-2022 Crake Fellow.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT We are excited to welcome our new Resident Designer, Julia Kim! Julia is a Set and Costumes Designer with experience in theatre and dance. She graduated from Ryerson University with a BFA (Hons.) in Performance Production in 2015. She’s been working primarily in Southern Ontario, designing for independent theatre productions in Toronto as well as working as an assistant designer at Stratford Festival and Shaw Festival. In 2020, she was nominated for the P...auline McGibbon Award. Selected Design Credits include: set and costume design for A (Musical) Midsummer Night’s Dream, Driftwood Theatre (2019); Cannibal, Next Stage Festival; Scrap Paper Theatre (2019); Judas Noir, Obsidian Theatre & BDB Productions (2018); Shaw Festival Director’s Projects (2016); set design for Pass Over, Obsidian Theatre Company (2019); costume design for Portia’s Julius Caesar, Hart House Theatre (2019), Resonance, Human Body Expression (2019). Julia is excited and looking forward to her new adventure as the Resident Designer for the Mount Allison Drama Studies Program and Motyer-Fancy Theatre. Please join us in welcoming Julia to Mount Allison! We are looking forward to having her as part of our team, and the amazing contribution she’ll make to our students, our program, theatre, and the community.
