Mount Allison University Libraries and Archives 23.01.2021

We're so happy to be able to open our doors to you all again! Keep in mind that we have, out of an abundance of caution, put in place for this current Red phase of recovery, a number of additional safety measures. Mask use is now mandatory, even when seated.... There is no food or drink permitted in any public/bookable space in the library. Group study rooms have (temporarily) had their maximum occupancy reduced to 1.

The Libraries & Archives are re-opening to in-person visits beginning Wednesday, January 27 at 8:10 a.m. for photocopying and printing services. The libraries’ Book-a-seat timeslots begin at 8:30 a.m. While we are in the Red phase of recovery, we will be implementing the following risk mitigation measures in the libraries' spaces: No food or drink will be permitted in any of the public or bookable spaces in the library.... Students and faculty who use the library must wear a mask at all times, even when they are seated. All group study rooms will be changed to single occupancy spaces. We're working on getting back to a full schedule of open hours in the R.P. Bell library but until such a time as our staffing levels permit, we are able to offer the following opening hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:10 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday: 8:10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday: 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Full re-opening details on our blog: https://libraryguides.mta.ca//COVID-Update-Library-Re-open

We are excited and pleased to be launching our new Books-by-Mail service! Current MTA students, faculty, and staff who reside within the Atlantic Provinces (NB, NS, PE, NL) and require access to library materials during any phase of the province of New Brunswick's recovery program (Yellow, Orange, Red), can now place requests online via the Novanet catalogue or our Library-to-Go service (for MTA owned items only). (Requests from outside the Atlantic region will be evaluate...d on a case-by-case basis). More details can be found on our blog here: https://libraryguides.mta.ca//MTA-Libraries-and-Archives-n

Today, Jan. 19, the Government of New Brunswick (GNB) announced that Zone 1 (Moncton/Sackville), Zone 2 (Saint John), and Zone 3 (Fredericton) will move to the ...red health alert level as of midnight tonight. We understand this creates uncertainty for our students and the entire University community. Representatives from Mount Allison and other New Brunswick universities will be meeting with Public Health tomorrow to better understand the implications for University operations. A further update will be shared with the University community tomorrow. Be kind to each other and stay safe!
