Opportunities galore with Toastmasters
Another new Member to our club! The Mount Forest Motivators are pleased to have Jessica as a new member! Here is Jessica’s story. Hi! I'm Jessica McFarlane on...e of the newest members of Mount Forest Motivators. I learned about Toastmasters roughly 3 years ago and thought it sounded like a great club to join. Over the last few years I have been busy building my Real Estate career and welcoming my two little boys Lachlan (3 years) and Huon (7 months) into the world. My husband Andrew and I live in Mount Forest, and have a great amount of support from our family, in order to handle our VERY busy lifestyle. As a Real Estate Salesperson I meet and talk to many people on a daily basis, so I am looking forward to learning skills and building confidence, to help myself personally and for my business. The Mount Forest Motivators would like to introduce one of our new members. Welcome Rachel! Here is Rachel’s story. We are happy to have you join our club! H...ello! I'm Rachel Wanders and I couldn't be more excited to join the Mount Forest Motivators. My husband AJ and I and our two children,Al and Julianna are very happy to call Mount Forest our hometown. About a year ago we, as a family, had a life changing experience. Our youngest was born and shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with postpartum depression. What a rough road that was. I'm extremely thankful for the support system I had and still have around me. It was at this time I was introduced to some life changing, natural products that turned into a life changing business. It has now become my passion to share with the world. I joined toastmasters to learn the skills it will take to effectively build this business and be a strong leader for the team I continue to build. So happy to be here! See more
Last night's educational moment was about "How to Quit Talking Quickly' by Joel Schwartzberg from Sept. Toastmaster mag. 1. Raise Your Volume 2.Over-Articulate 3. Embrace Pauses 4. Ask Questions 5. Put Breaks In Your Notes 6. Cut, Don't Run. Remember your audience needs time to absorb your message. Slow down.
This is such a supportive group with lots of resources for individual growth and confidence building.
At the July 27th Hershaw meeting, Toastmaster Paavan led the theme of "The Power of Small Acts". Read this week's meeting recap at https://hershawtoastmasters.com/Blog_Summer_2021.html#July27
Congratulations. We worked hard to change the 'We can't' and 'Yes We Can'. This was a rough year!!! BUT with perseverance we completed individual projects and... through zoom were able to procure the minimum 20 members to achieve this President's Distinguished status.( We have members from Mississauga, Toronto, Orangeville, Acton and would really like to have more members from the Mount Forest area in the upcoming year). Change your 'I can't' to 'yes I can'. Be a guest anytime. pm me. See more
