To avoid any misinterpretations of this message, we will spell it out. This is not an opinion piece. These are facts, and this is the reality we have lived through as an entire industry for 15 months. As we move towards a 4th Reopening Plan in Ontario, we are calling on the government for 3 specific asks: 1. , . Millions of workouts in facilities across Ontario have taken place during the time businesses were able to operate. Less than 1% of cases can be associated with outbreaks in fitness facilities. There are ways to operate fitness facilities safely. 2. . 10 people inside an @goodlifefitness or @movati.athletic looks entirely different than 10 people in an @orangetheory @otfcanada . Apply a fair percentage of capacity. 3. . Collaborate with the individuals who have spent years working and understanding the operations of this industry, this will give the much needed insight to develop effective protocols. We have paid a high price for flaws in past reopening plans and we can't do it again. We’ve seen framework be implemented on a Friday and then deemed unfit on a Sunday. Every error more painful for our industry than the last. WE CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER FLAWED REOPENING PLAN! Develop the plan, vet the plan, collaborate with industry leaders on the plan, perfect the plan, and then execute the plan. We need this.
