Lower Body workout with Ankle Weights! Here is a circuit that you can do with only ankle weights to get muscles around the hip, knee, and ankle to fire up! As I mention in the video, if you don't have parallel bars or a partner for help with balance, you can do these moves seated or lying down. The Moves:... 1. Marching with Foot Flexion- focus on lifting the base of the foot up to the sky and squeezing through your core 2. Marching with Knee extension- cramping may occur if you go all out with this one! Start in a comfortable range and slowly work your way up to a straight leg. 3. Hip Extension and around the world toe taps- to strengthen glutes (and muscle around the ankle!) 4. Hamstring curls- with or without the hip extended. If you start to feel cramping, decrease the range of motion of the curl, lower the weight, or get out of hip extension (make sure your knees are at the same level and the movement comes from the knee only) 5. Hip Abductions- Clamshells to a straight leg abduction and hip flexion. You may not need and ankle weight for this one! Let me know how it goes!

A quick HIIT workout! HIIT, or High Intensity Interval Training, is a great way to workout if you're in a time crunch or want big benefits in half the time. Each person has a different 'high' intensity, so you may need to get moving to discover yours! If you have never done these movements before, start slow and make sure to master the movement before you add speed to decrease your chance of injury!... #adaptiveexercise #chairexercise #seatedexercise #movecommunity #communityfirst #adaptivefitness #activeforlife #adaptlife #stayconnected #community #communitymatters #accessibility #inclusivemovement #inclusivitymatters #activitybasedtherapy #activitybasedtraining #disabilityawareness #health #neuro #neurorehab #neurorehabilitation #independence #volunteervictoria
