Here are five ways to reset yourself today, without using a detox! How many of you feel sluggish, maybe like you ate or drank too much over the holidays? It's a common theme these days! Below are 5 tips to help you reset quickly, and get you back to feeling energized, strong and healthy! 1. Don't wait until Monday, rather, always do a quick reset the very next meal. Why wait? Waiting 2 more days to start means that you have 2 more days of feeling like crap! We are all prone t...o overeating or indulging over the holidays, but my advice is to make the very next meal healthy! Be sure to have lean protein, healthy fat and a good complex carbohydrate. 2. Get outside. Being outdoors (no matter what the temperature) is beneficial for body and brain. Walking is one of the best ways to reduce cortisol levels in the body (the stress hormone), and the fresh air will aid in sleeping better. 3. Ditch the sugar. Visibility and convenience are huge factors when it comes to what you eat. If Christmas baking, sugar-laden foods and packaged snacks are within reach, you are testing your willpower all day long. You can only flex that willpower muscle so long until you cave. So purge the house of those things, and restock with healthy foods. 4. 15 Minutes a day of movement will be enough to let the body know that it's springtime! Some of you won't start a fitness program because you have an all or nothing mentality. If you can't commit to a full hour, then you're not doing anything. Bad philosophy. Instead, set the bar slightly lower and commit to moving at least 15 minutes a day to start with. Any activity that increases your heart rate will increase circulation, which decreases inflammation, disease and decay. 5. Try a sober January. The ladies in my Membership are doing this for January. I have asked them to give up something that has gotten them off track. Could be alcohol, or chocolate, or a negative mindset.
