MOVE Improve 26.01.2021

As the province has launched its reopening strategy, and more businesses will be required to have their staff take protective precautions (eg., wearing protective cotton face masks), these tips will be important in keeping safe through the transition. Wearing a cotton face mask is only as good as the care taken to wash and sterilize it on a DAILY basis (especially if you are wearing it out in public regularly). Below are important (and super simple) steps to staying safe and... healthy using your awesome new mask. If you looking to make your own cotton face masks, and have been unsuccessful with conventional "how to" videos, you can access the free DIY Face Mask training when you download MOVE Improve from the app store. It walks you step-by-step through the process ... without the frustrating errors. Visit www.moveimprove.org/covid19 for details. #covid19 #diyfacemask #safeandhealthy #keepingsafe

Thank you to 770 CHQR for sharing information about our MOVE Improve "DIY Face Mask" app now available for free on the App Store. With MOVE Improve, learning skills goes beyond a YouTube video by breaking the task into manageable steps. With this content anyone can make protective cotton face masks at home ... with confidence. Our hope is that MOVE Improve can do our part to keep everyone safe when they are out in public. What began as a project to help St...itch4Corona, started by a small team of Engineers out of Toronto making face masks for those in need (who did not have access/budget for protective face masks), has quickly turned into a citywide initiative to help people make protective face masks at home. Available on the App Store, we hope this helps people beyond the YYC. So, please share this with your loved ones so they can feel empowered and safe as we all need to do our part in the fight against COVID-19. MOVE Improve 05.01.2021

On March 11, 2020 our lives drastically changed. The World Health Organization declared the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) a pandemic and we’ve been on high alert, taking every precaution to keep our loved ones safe and out of harms way. With more than 1.7 million people directly affected, and over 100,000 lives lost, we are putting our differences aside and fighting the Next World War together. And there is no effort too small to make a difference...! We’ve been inspired by the courageous initiatives seen around the world (and our own neighbourhoods) that are making a difference in the fight against COVID-19. Humbled by the power of simplicity, we’re putting technology aside, rolling up our sleeves, and doing our part to keep Calgarians safe during a time where we are most vulnerable. We are coordinating an effort to get Cloth Face Coverings to not-for-profit organizations and essential service providers who do not have access to approved face masks or respirators at this time. Our goal is to donate 10,000 Cloth Face Coverings to Calgary's Undercover Superheroes (including not-for-profit organizations, private sector employees, and those who put themselves at risk to help keep our city going).
