Hey everyone, Aaron here. Thought it might be time to fire up the ol m108 channel but instead of aimlessly posting content, figured a little context might benefit anyone caring to follow along. 6 months removed from the physical studio closing, change has been astir: we indeed no longer have a physical space and yet, our community is engaged with offerings we've been providing. I've managed to spend more time in the forest, can finally justify (I think) wearing fl...annel, have got more grey hair, and Chany and I are either being drooled on or snuggling Olive when we're not cleaning/working/exercising. Ironically, I've spent less time in a gym than I have over the last decade but have been lifting and moving Kettlebells more than ever before. I miss the daily interactions, the trainers and the energy of 108... but have shifted that energy to working on @movrofficial and am more excited than ever on how we’re bringing movement to the world. I could go on, but you get the gist, things change. You may know this, but I'm just not a natural on social media... I've often avoided putting myself 'out there' in fear of saying the 'wrong thing' or trying to level up and be an expert in some way that I'm not. I just prefer in-person convo, that's me. So, with a little reflection, I asked what would I be proud to share, to put out in the world, and to help people with? I asked myself where do I want to take M108? Well, under the credo ‘Every Movement Matters' this channel will be dedicated to bringing you the School of Movement, IG classes, kettlebell how-to's so you can move your body the best way possible, highlights from our newsletters and opinions on strength/exercise/fitness industry norms that I think might benefit you. Bell Alert: Timing is funny. Ordered these beauties 5.5 months back expecting them here 8 weeks ago. History Lesson 10: The Present Movement108 Online. Who woulda thunk? We didn’t think we woulda, coulda, mighta gone to the inter webs 7 months ago. Heck, we were bursting at the seams in classes and personal training. But here’s the reality, 2020 has been anything but easy. For all the reasons that immediately come to mind and more, we’ve been doing our best to just go with the current. We patched together a super janky version of an online membership (see the photos) and go...t through the first few months of adapting a business. But bandaids rub off after a while and we decided to make things real over the summer. We’re going from the old studio to the new and while we may not (yet) compete with Peloton or Kayla, we know that there’s something we have that no one else does: It’s a formula and a instructional model with a team equipped to deliver. It’s a balanced schedule so your body feels great every day and every week. Its mobility, stability, strength and sweat. It’s 10,000 hours of training experience smashed into an online offering. It’s a class flow that we’ve perfected with you, in the flesh. It’s a drive to ensure that everything we do is for you and your body to feel the very best it can. It’s understanding your body plus 2 pieces of equipment that replace the gym (and you can tuck it in the closet). It’s d(b)ad jokes woven into our monologues. It’s a desire and ability for us to deliver to you a continual physical experience that lets you be strong, free, enabled and powerful in your skin. HISTORY LESSON 9: Gratitude Welp, this is our second last history post - and we’ve landed on gratitude. There’s not really much to say except thanks... as we officially close the space and roll our services into online and personal training, we feel more than a touch nostalgic and thankful for all of you (a small sample of whom are tagged in this post) that made classes, events, dance parties, hugs, swings, collaborations, trx rows or just showing up to our studio on the daily - worth a smile. As we head into this fall of change, growth and opportunity, our hearts are full, eyes are open and we are looking forward to sharing in all the new ways to get moving (and smiling) with you.
