You want to do everything and anything? But is your body ready? Too often do we neglect our joints when it comes to exercising, physical activities and sports. If you want to get better and stronger at a certain activity, what do you do?... 1You must practice the skills to level up 2Increase your strength or muscular endurance through resistance training 3Increase your cardiovascular capacity (if needed) through some form of cardio training. This could be reduced or taken out if your resistance training program is of high volume. 4Mobility training to support the activity through reinforcement of movement, increase range of motion and reduction of injuries. 5Structured nutrition plan, mindset training/visualization, assessments/tracking, hire a coach, and so forth. To train effectively you HAVE to understand the functionality of everything you do. Let’s take a look at how a runner’s training program may look like: Skill training - perfecting the runner’s form. Head placement, upper body, hip, and lower body movement (rotation, flexion & extension, etc.) Strength/muscular endurance - low to high volume (depending on type of runner) lower body dominant program. LOTS of core and rotational work. Cardio - regular run schedule, HIIT (for sprinters), other types of cardio (swimming, elliptical, bike, etc.) to prevent plateau/fatigue Mobility - Full body but if time is limited - shoulder extension, scapular, spine, hips, knees, ankles. Anywhere else that may be deficient. This same training layout, but fine tuning the specifics can be applied to your specific activity! - So what is Kinstretch? A movement enhancement system that develops maximum body control, flexibility, and USABLE ranges of motion. A practice is complete with a self-assessment system, allowing students the ability to monitor their own body for dysfunctions that may be hindering their performance or increasing risks of injury. We use the Kinstretch system with ourselves and clients to be ready for everything and anything! To experience a virtual class.
