Premiering by a new work, 'a day not owned here, reversed', featuring MMStudio owner Kay Kenney in a powerful collaboration with Rachel Shaen and Josh Lyon, through a recent residency with the Isabel Bader Centre for Performing Arts IMAGINE Project.... as well as works from the talented and inspiring Nova Bhattacharya, Crazy Smooth (Yvon Soglo) and Santee Smith! We are so thrilled to announce that BLESSY RIVERA has joined the MMStudio community as the new HIP-HOP instructor for the season!!! Welcome to the Team BLESSY!!! Learn more about Blessy and her impressive dance background:... Blessy began dancing at five years old, primarily training in hip-hop. During this time, she took part in various dance competitions and local shows, and has had the opportunity to teach level 1-2 hip-hop to youth under La Riva Dance Studio in Vancouver, B.C. At Queen’s University, Blessy studies Mathematics and Psychology while continuing her dance journey through participating in multiple clubs and gigs. In 2019, she took on a position as the intermediate-advanced hip-hop instructor for Flow Dance Club, and was a dancer within the club’s competition team, Performance Crew. Now a fourth year student at Queen’s, she is a member of Kingston Freestyle Dance, through which she proceeds to learn new techniques and skills alongside exceptional individuals. Such experiences have allowed her to develop her own unique style. She enjoys exploring new genres and rhythms of musicality as a means of expanding her versatility and knowledge. She believes that dance is a universal, beautiful, and exciting outlet to express art and oneself. Constantly inspired by her peers, Blessy aspires to spread positivity by promoting good health, self-confidence, and creativity through movement. She hopes to progress as a dancer and an individual, and she looks forward to continue sharing within the Kingston community. She cannot wait to begin her path at Movement Market Studio this winter season, where people can celebrate their own styles and have fun together!

Happening on Sunday, November 22 from 1-2:30PM, the first workshop of the Mindfulness Series will be focused on Gratitude. Learn more about how to reframe your perspective and immerse yourself in gratitude through a guided meditation and a movement practiceled by mindfulness and yoga teacher Laura Chaignon. Thrilled to be welcoming DANA, another talented dance instructor joining the MMstudio teaching roster this fall! "Dana started dancing over 20 years ago as a competitive dancer and high school cheerleader in her hometown, Ottawa. Dana moved to Montreal to attend University, where she became the coach for the University dance team and a main choreographer on campus. Dana only move to Kingston three years and has been teaching drop in classes in the YGK area for the past year. Her classes combine primarily hip hop with a touch of jazz and pop, open to all levels! Her main goals are to move, learn and have fun. I am so thrilled to announce that the community driven ISAIAH KLASSEN is joining MMStudio this Fall 2020 to share his practice in Yoga: Isaiah is an established Kingston yoga teacher whose goal is to facilitate growth through a yoga practice sensitive to each student. Teaching at the previously donation-based studio 330 informed his commitment to safe space and straight-forward language. Hes developed his skill set for opening and strengthening bodies and minds by teaching at Soul Academy Wellness, and training extensively with David Regelin in NYC. He believes everybody and every body can connect form and function for a better life. He keeps up too many hobbies and reads books about things other than yoga and thinks other instructors should too.
