The Ontario government recently announced a province-wide lockdown. This places Burlington into the grey zone and as such we wanted to address any questions or concerns that you may have. Firstly, we wanted to assure our clients that Movement Therapy will remain OPEN during this lockdownSaying that, we also wanted to inform you that some of our services will be affected during this time. The government has deemed regulated health professionals (physiotherapists..., massage therapists, naturopathic doctors, and chiropractors) as ESSENTIAL and therefore are allowing us to continue treating patients in person during this lockdown. Unfortunately, unregulated professionals (osteopaths and personal trainers) were not deemed essential and therefore we will NOT be offering those services while in the grey zone. Secondly, we wanted to remind all of our clients that we are governed by our professional colleges , who in accordance with the Ministry of Health have developed comprehensive procedures to significantly prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are diligently following these procedures in order to ensure that you are safe coming to Movement Therapy. [ Click the link in our profile to learn more] . Lastly, we hope this information fuels your confidence to continue to focus on your health. Ignoring pain/symptoms/injuries allows your issues to progress and makes them much harder to reverse down the road. Additionally, it is important to note that many of our services, in addition to focusing on your physical and mental health, also improve your metabolic health, which is critical in the fight against COVID-19. The healthier you are, the greater ability you have to fight off infection and avoid serious complications. New information is coming out daily and if anything changes, we will do our best to keep you informed. If you have any other other questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out via email or phone . See more

With gyms and studios finally opening back up, (HOORAY!) we wanted to give you a couple tips to help keep you injury free: Especially because your time at the gym might be condensed... 1. Prioritize a warm up to prep your body to move... 2. Warm up before the gym to save time 3. Go easy on yourself, set reasonable expectations and goals 4. Start with less weight 5. Aim for slow, consistent progression 6. Work on your imbalances 7. Listen to your body and don’t push through pain Always remember that preventing an injury is always quicker and easier than treating an injury. Please contact us if you have any concerns! Have fun at the gym everyone! See more
